So September 13th is the date. Interesting times ahead indeed.

I’m a son of Italian immigrants, but my values are that assimilation is key. I quite like the resurgence of the national flag as a gesture to say - we expect more for (and from) ourselves.

Since Sept 13th the government has been posturing to appease / exploit the shifting moods. This of course, is nothing more than pandering. I fucking hate the government.

My last point is somewhat general. There is nothing wrong with nationalistic aspirations, that being, asking oneself the question - what do we want this country to be? What do we aspire for our citizens, as a collective who happens to fall under a single administrative body? Politicians are not asking themselves this question, despite it being their job, because they care only about the short term. They are not visionaries.

Now that means some people will have strong views on certain subjects like immigration, which of course is inevitable. How can millions of people share the exact same view on every subject? But the point is that people should be free to have a view - however extreme - and it is up to others to agree/disagree and/or engage.

So 3,5 years of jailtime for a music collection.
