I'm continuing to play Once Human. It's getting a bit old... if they don't shake stuff up I'll probably be playing it less and less with time.

I'm also doing another playthrough of Cyberpunk 2077. This is a great game. I finally replaced my graphics card, going from a gtx1080 to a gtx4070ti-super, so I'm playing it with max graphics and most of the ray tracing settings turned on. I plan on buying the Phantom Liberty DLC at some point.. I really hope it goes on sale. $30 for a DLC just seems a bit high.

Minecraft co-op every now and then with my 7/yo daughter.
Have to control the dosage otherwise it turns her into a feral crack addict.

Have you tried Call to Arms Gates of Hell Ostfront Peltz?
The Conquest mode is like the Dynamic Campaign Generator of MoW1. Pretty fun, albeit somewhat crude.
I was playing it a few months back. Scratched my MoW itch quite well.

There's something very satisfying about researching good tanks ASAP, and combining them with good infantry to destroy the awful AI (nerfed via mods to stop it cheesing artillery).

E.g. Guards Rifle + T34/85 + SU-100.
E.g. Guards Paratroopers + IS-2.
E.g. Rangers + Pershing.
E.g. Airbourne + E8 Sherman.
E.g. Brandenburgers + Jagdpanther.

I tried to resist. In fact I was happily not even needing to resist, I had zero interest. But the Assassin's Creed fanboy in my heart won today upon seeing a few random things about Shadows, so it's currently downloading. 1 hour to go and I'll be zipping through Japan, stabbing people up.

Annoyingly just last night I'd started my replay of the entire series. Sorry Altair, guess you'll be sitting on the backburner for a while

Have fun with it because it looks like it's going to be final one from ubisoft. They are in huuuge money trouble and this game will underperform by a lot.

I still haven't played Mirage. I'm sure I'll play that and Shadows eventually. :D

I finished my second playthrough of Cyberpunk 2077 and finally quit playing Once Human. Been doing Soul Mask for a while and I went back to The Outer Worlds. The latter is ok... it's kind of like Fallout, though not so engaging for me.

Mirage I really loved, it felt like the original, but with all the nice upgrades to the engine and little of their rpg-lite crap they've been pulling. I'd intended to ignore that one too, but there was a free weekend, so I jumped in and fell in love with it, then bought it on sale.

The rpg-lite reason is why I paid zero attention to Shadows. All I knew about it was it's the same team who've done the rpg-lite ones, it's set in Japan and there are two characters, a shinobi and a samurai. Then I spotted some of the comments from players, stating how it feels like the best of both worlds, even people who hated the rpg-lite ones were loving this so I caved. And I'm very glad I did, I'm enjoying it a lot.

I'm still tempted to get Soul Mask. I think it's currently on sale. I really need to give Enshrouded another good go first though. I've finally been getting into Valheim (bought it week 1, played about 8 hours then got pulled away by something else) due to a friend who also plays it and has 'finished' it twice. We're intending to play Enshrouded together at some point but he's dragging his feet so I may just get back into my singleplayer game at some point. I really want to test the building system in it. I've been seeing some incredible work from people.

I played Valheim shortly after it came out. It was fun, but unfinished at the time. I never went back... not sure how far along the game is. If it's actually more or less complete, I might give it another go. Enshrouded is similar.. played it when it first came out, but the game was only 25% of so done. You could see the area of the whole map (shrouded of course) and it was way bigger than what you could access. I enjoyed it, but from what little I was following the map area hasn't increased at all... just some dungeon areas were added. I'd love to be proven wrong... if there's significantly more content I'd totally go back.

That said, the building system is actually very good. You can build with blocks (think minecraft), but then you can build to sub-block levels as well... so still blocks by like a 4x4 sub-block level or something. And each sub-block can be any type of block you knew how to build. Reading that again I may make absolutely no sense, but basically it's kind of blocky, but with no a significant amount of customizability. tldr, the building system in Enshrouded really lends itself well to building some really badass stuff. You can also deform the terrain with few limits, so massive dungeons or wine cellars are totally a thing. So maybe worth picking up just for that.

I honestly didn't mind the rpg-lite of Assassin's Creed. It's always been a fun game for me, give or take. I have to try to avoid the more completionist grindy shit though. Collect 100 poem fragments? No thanks.

Valheim has so much more in it now. I played week one, and briefly again when they put in animal taming (just wolves and boar). There's other biomes now but I've not left the first couple yet. I think the next update is their last one before release so you might as well wait really. Enshrouded... I have no clue where it's at in the scheme of things. I think they've released a couple of extra biomes. I struggled to get into it, again pretty much week one, but I keep seeing the amazing building that people do in it, and I love my base building. I have already messed with it a bit and am really impressed by how flexible it is. I just need to progress further to unlock more variety in materials.

Yea... after having played the majority of the main game, I did some googling to figure out where all the block recipes were hiding just so I could build cooler buildings. I did run into issues on our group server where I would just crash while I was in the town we'd built, so I had to build a separate base and never go back to town. I was the only one that had that problem... no clue why, but it was really frustrating.

Playing Kingdom Come Deliverance 1. It's decent but for me it feels a bit 'work-y'.

I came to the realization that The Outer Worlds was more work than fun recently. I'm basically at the end of the game and was playing the DLCs, but am questioning whether it's worth the time. I did finally start playing Metro: Exodus. The first couple levels are a master-class in how to not start a game. It made me want to just quit... between levels where there were no choices and nearly no gameplay and melodramatic cut scenes full of people I didn't care about, I nearly quit out of irritation. 20-30 minutes in and there may be some hints of a decent game, so I'll play a bit longer, but damn...

I don't sound jaded, do I? :jade:

Jade is inevitable.
