Yeah I get it...but trust me, once you're a few episodes in and gotten used to the weirdness it'll suck you in

Watched 1922 on Netflix, based on a Stephen King novella. Good film but don't expect any happiness at any point whatsoever.

Re: Good films..
So apparently now that Dune was actually a success (YAY!), Denis Villeneuve will be doing Rendezvous with Rama. Holy crap! Not sure if you guys read that book/series or not, but wow, I'm really surprised. I remember reading the books, and I also remember playing the PC game that was kinda based on it (never finished it). This should be interesting, if it gets finished. There's not a lot of action, so I'm curious how well it'll do.

Free Guy was quite entertaining. Doubt its going to win many awards but I liked it.

Yea, I agree... not ground breaking or anything, but fun and entertaining.
I watched the latest Matrix. I'm not sure whether I should love it or hate it. Probably a good reaction for a Matrix sequel. Just don't expect it to be mind blowingly awesome.

Re: Good films..
Wait there's another Matrix? God I'm so out of touch. Is it the Wachowski bro sisters still? Or a different director?
I have yet to see Dune I wanted to go see it around my birthday in the cinema but decided against it in the end. Now it's no longer in cinemas. I guess it's only on HBO Max which I don't have. Mmm.
I don't watch a lot of movies but I did see LA Confidential for the first time around Christmas (yes, really) and it was amazing. Other than that I saw Witcher season 2, which was very good but I was mildly disappointed they veered off too much from the source material. I felt like the first season was a bit too attached to the structure of The Last Wish and ended up being quite confusing for people who didn't know the series already, but this season kind of did the opposite. It took a perfectly coherent book and then adapted it to make it more palatable for TV viewers.
In the books, Ciri basically joins a gang of young dispossessed robbers and murderers, The Rats, with a lesbian lover and all. She ends up getting in trouble after they rob the wrong person and an infamous bounty hunter hunts down and kills the entire gang in brutal fashion, humilating and torturing Ciri before she escapes. It's probably too harsh for the Netflix crowd, to see the 'hero' go through that before finding her way again
.
I'm still watching Star Trek: TNG but the final season is really shit so far. Just watching it to finish it now. And I started watching The Expanse season 4. Holy shit it's good. Best scifi show ever?

Oh man, I love the Expanse. I guess I should've mentioned that Shiny and I binge-watched the entire final season in one day (only 6 episodes, but that's quite a bit for me). I've read all the books except the final one and though there are some major diversions, it's mostly on point. I'm sad it's over, since it didn't actually over all the books. I think I'm secretly hoping they make another series to cover the final books.

Hahaha damn! I can't sit through 6 one hour episodes in a day but yeah, it's probably the best hard scifi show ever. I have a soft spot for a few other scifi shows (like the Battlestar Galactica remake) but they don't the genre justice nearly as much as The Expanse does, with its vision of a semi-distopian space faring age and contact with an actually alien entity. I'm still only 4 episodes into season 4 so I'm gonna try and savour it.

Well, I can tell you that it stays good through the whole series (at least from my perpsective), and stays mostly true to the books. I hope you enjoy!

Finally got round to watching Jumanji: The Next Level. If you enjoyed the first (well second) one you'll enjoy this one too, very much more of the same.

Yup, I liked both of those movies. Glad you enjoyed it as well.
I watched Don't Look Up recently. Man... that was a pretty good movie, actually... depressing, but they did a really great job of it.
