 Re: Duke Nukem Forever
It was fun. It had a lot of cool secrets. The toilet humor and machismo was awesome. I'm cool with it.

 Re: Duke Nukem Forever
As long as it makes me laugh and has that same old Duke feel, I don't care if it's not innovating or revolutionary. And that it's gonna be long (15 hours according to some) should be good, compared to all those short-ass shooters out there.

This is just lol. Pure, unadulterated lol. Hats off to them for keeping up the comedy element on news that will probably piss a few people off. The video is great! http://www.mcvuk.com/news/43650/Duke-Nu ... is-delayed

 Re: Duke Nukem Forever
haha, nice. I heard about the delay, but with how long I've been waiting, I'm not sure how much I care.

I can understand that Satis. It's been what, 12 years? I think one more month won't kill anyone.

 Re: Duke Nukem Forever
Hehe, cool vid. Could have been a marketing ploy all along tho - what would be more perfect than delaying the most delayed game of all time, for only a month too? More controversy on the MP gaming mode where you're supposed to save some girl and give her a slap on the ass at the end or whatever btw. Hardly seems sensitive to me, but then again it's Duke freaking Nukem. The entire persona/game is built on irony, so I don't really see why this in particular would be lifted out and complained about. Penny Arcade has their view too:

 Re: Duke Nukem Forever
So, Ars Technica reviewed the game and it was VERY negative. Like, a total slam. http://arstechnica.com/gaming/reviews/2 ... ensive.arsHaha... I dunno, I still plan on buying it. Just maybe not at full price. I want to see more reviews.

 Re: Duke Nukem Forever
Yeah, RPS trashed it pretty hard too. I'll pick it up at a 5 buck sale or something. I'm sure it'll be fun, but in a popcorn 80's movie kind of way. Still, wish these game 'journalists' wouldn't take themselves so seriously. http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2011/06 ... m-forever/ | | | | Quote: It’s a misfire as a Duke Nukem project, it’s a misfire as a first-person shooter and it’s certainly a misfire as a legendary game we’ve waited over a decade for. I also agree with any sentiment that argues it was always impossible for any Duke Nukem Forever to live up to its hype and infamy, but that doesn’t give it a free pass to be quite so patchy and thin, to be forgiven for being this irritating, uneven mess.
It means well, I have no doubt of that. It wants to be loved, it wants to make us laugh, it wants to show us big things exploding, it wants us to not get bored, it wants us to have ‘fun.’
Unfortunately, too much of that depends on thinking the presence of Duke is in and of itself ‘fun’ enough. Take him (or at least the vague, fan-fiction-like concept of him, which is what we really have here) away, and what’s left? The trailers for about 30 different games from 1997-2011 stitched awkwardly together and made passingly interactive, with little rhyme or reason. Duke Nukem Forever’s legacy, then, becomes a strangely apt one – a raddled document of the last decade and a half of game design fads, trends and values. Duke Nukem Forever was always going to make history, and history it is. | | | | |

 Re: Duke Nukem Forever
Yea, the journalist on Ars got equally carried away. I guess they're not even trying for an objective review any more. btw, found this graphic from the ars article entertaining.
