Well, yes, they have sun and bbqs and beer, so that's cool, but the government and censorship in Oz is insane. We all already heard of their extremist bans of games and movies containing violence and/or sex, like how they refused to classify Left 4 Dead 2 for a long time.

http://kotaku.com/5361301/left-4-dead-2 ... Bupdate%5D

But now...and you're gonna think this is a hoax, but it's not: they're banning 'women that appear child-like' in porn, as well as female ejaculation orgasms. The first ban basically is meant to 'combat peadophilia' by banning small-breasted women from porn. WTFFFFFFF

http://www.somebodythinkofthechildren.c ... easts-ban/

I mean, wow?! Not only does that imply that small-breasted women are 'less of a woman' than their more ample counterparts, but also that men who like small-breasted adult women are hidden paedos, or at least close to it.

Jesus fucking Christ on a stick. Yeah...I'm never gonna move to Australia, as tempting as it may be in other ways.

To put it bluntly, if it's legal, female and isn't fat, I'd probably have sex with it.

So if I had sex with a girl who had small boobs and was about 5ft, according to ausland, I'm a peado.

Oh wait, my most recent girlfriend fits that description.

Wtf.

I think I'll take my (long-term) personal freedom over a bunch of bikini hotties though...but it's a tough call. :P

I still want to visit Australia. But yea, they have some serious governmental difficulties. On the other hand, they just recently broke up their telco monopoly, so at least there's a minor win buried inside big brother.

Meh...with the US and their body scanners and fingerprints and Oz with its retarded porn/games laws, there are increasingly few places I can/want to visit. :/

It's probably gonna be holidays in freaking Mongolia soon if this trend continues.

Holiday in Cambodia, damnit

You still need to come visit us, Oxy-poo. Just because you don't want to live somewhere doesn't mean you can't visit.

I dunno dawg. You know that every (first) foreign entry into the U.S. requires you to give your fingerprints, right? So that's probably a no-no. :( The body scanners and all the other batshit crazy security stuff don't help.

They scan you getting on the plane, not off. Well, usually, I've heard of some stupid shit lately. And who cares if you're fingerprinted? Are you THAT paranoid? Finger prints are kinda boring compared to full nude scans.

So, you're really never coming to the US? I hate to hear it, there's a lot to see and do hear that you can't see/do anywhere else in the world.

Believe me, I am as distraught by the idea as anyone else. I'd love to see the US, for several reasons. One of them is the vast sense of open space that does not exist anywhere in Europe outside of perhaps the Alps and towards Eastern Europe. Others are megacities and megastores and crazy fast food and giant highways and whatnot. Things Americans take for granted as we take our medieval city centres (to name one thing) for granted, you know how it is.

Still, fingerprints...yeah no thanks. The US has an exchange agreement with the EU on these data btw, so if I give them to the US they end up in a database accessible by the EU as well (I have never given my fingerprints away here, consciously anyway). As for the scanners...I dunno, since the US can't scan people boarding airplanes outside the US I can imagine they either made them mandatory for transatlantic flights for airports that offer flights to the US, or scan passengers upon entering the US. Either way, they'll scan you going back on the plane to Europe. :/

I find fingerprints more invasive than a body scan in terms of privacy, actually. I don't think they can use how my wee-wee or my muscular hairy chest looks to track me down, but my fingerprints otoh...

I like the idea of spending the day on a shooting range.

With a Mosin Nagant :)

Bring one and we'll go shoot it. $10 per person for as long as you feel like shooting and have ammo. :D

You've seriously never been fingerprinted, ox? Man, we get fingerprinted as children in the US... I thought that was fairly common. Not for future crime detection or anything, just to safeguard against kidnapping. We also get fingerprinted for getting driver's license and renewals, I think. I dunno. It doesn't matter, my DNA is on file from the Army... can't get much more personal than that.

Bah man, you're such a wus. How about you fly into Canada, rent a car, then drive into the US? There aren't body scanners at border crossings yet... I'm sure you could fly into Mexico, but I'm not sure you'd actually want to. That place is turning into a worse hell than its been.

Nope, never been fingerprinted. Not actively been avoiding it either (except for this travelling to the US thing), it just never came up. And my DNA isn't on file anywhere either, that I know of. But yeah, I guess all that doesn't matter much for you if the army has your DNA on file anyway. Can you reclaim it somehow? Like a procedure to have them give it back after X amount of years? That would seem sensible.

As for Canada...yes, except that I can't (legally) drive. Also, look at this. :(

Quote:
Richard Fadden, the soon-to-be head of the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS), recently announced that Canada will soon collect biometric data--such as fingerprints and photos for face recognition--on visitors entering the country from all over the world.

Currently the deputy minister of Citizenship and Immigration, Fadden said that the biometric data measures would be phased in from 2011 to 2013, beginning with higher-risk countries and eventually also applying the new rules to allies such as Britain and France.

Mexico...as fucked up as that may be, may be my only option. Though I'd have to check if the US border controls down there don't take your data as well.

Checked, and bad news

It's the same for Canada, btw, so the fact that Canada itself is gonna collect stuff doesn't even really matter.

This shit is lame as hell. :(
