Post Apple Evil : continued
Is Apple the new Microsoft?

Latest updates: Apple has slipped a new privacy in on users using the app store or iTunes. In it, the user agrees that Apple may share their precise geographic location. Anonymously, of course. Because showing you sitting in a certain house or apartment for 9 hours a day is anonymous.

Quote:
To provide location-based services on Apple products, Apple and our partners and licensees may collect, use, and share precise location data, including the real-time geographic location of your Apple computer or device. This location data is collected anonymously in a form that does not personally identify you and is used by Apple and our partners and licensees to provide and improve location-based products and services. For example, we may share geographic location with application providers when you opt in to their location services.

Some location-based services offered by Apple, such as the MobileMe “Find My iPhone” feature, require your personal information for the feature to work.

WTF man. Seriously.

I already freaked out when I saw that you're semi-expected to give your location on a site like igoogle (work, home, etc) so that your friends will "know where you are". I don't fucking want my friends to fucking know where I am unless I am somewhere they are! :?

This is so wrong on so many levels. Like you said, it's not very anonymous when they know at all times where you are. Even the worst data analyst in the world would manage to figure out what it means when you spend one half of the majority of your time in one place and the other in another.

I wish some religious fanatic would decided that Apple is anti-Christian, Muslim, Rastafarian or whatever and start a firebombing campaign against them. :( Reality is though, that we'd sooner see Osama with an Imac than that this will happen.

I wouldn't be surprised if Obama were a Mac user. It fits his socialist ideals. Well, socialist for America, where the only winner is the corporation that gets the exclusive contract. :? I've said it before, but I think I may have to move to another country.

What does socialism have to do with a company controlling your movement? Apple doesn't really fit into a socialist state/economy either, with its overpriced sleek hipster crap. :P

It's more the owner of Apple products than Apple itself. it's those far left wingers that love socialism that are probably the biggest Apple customers. They also drive volkswagons or mini coopers and declare in one voice that they're all individuals, whilst wearing the same clothes, driving the same cars, and espousing the same beliefs.
