Lol, what?
Was that supposed to allude to something or was that meant to be random? It made me laugh anyway.

Post Re: Funny Stuff II
lol wtf? Apparently it's about Splinter Cell.

Tycho wrote:
The story in the new Splinter Cell is of the International Intrigue variety, and by the time events have reached their culmination, every serpentine bend of the quintuple cross has been revealed. It's very much a genre, with its own peculiar texture, and Conviction scrupulously charts a more personal course through those events - but there's still plenty of New World Order Shadow Conspiracy boogita-boogita to go around.

I'd link to it, but it's today's post, so the link would be bad tomorrow.

I guessed it was SC and I lol'ed at the plot 'summary'. That's actually pretty representative for the majority of big budget games that involve large-scale conspiraceis or 'epic' storylines. Did you ever read the plot for Modern Warfare 2? It's absolutely insane. That's what you get when you let mediocre writers loose and tell them to surprise the player. They exhaust themselves in clichés and overdo the conspiracies. :)

If I were to write an FPS set in modern times, I'd make it very hum-drum. No massive "terrorists have nukes!" plots, or "China invades russia!" crap. Something small and infinitely more believable. I don't think the players care one way or the other, especially in something like an FPS.

Something where you're more central to the plot may require something a bit more extreme, though.

lol - admittedly, that will make absolutely no sense if you haven't seen an episode (or two) of Scrubs.

I have the first 3 seasons on dvds. One of the best humor shows.
