haha, oh man, that's pretty harsh. Hope you didn't fall for it. Talk about getting a rather severe convenience fee.

No i didnt buy it. I decided to look it up when i saw the metro 2033 offer and i thought that how come such a new game is already offered for free. And im not the only one who noticed this, there are a few posts about it on the steam forums too. I guess thats the price of convenience.

Yeah, I stopped being bothered by this kind of crap ages ago. It's like the steam christmas sales: DA and L4D2 both came out during fall, at full price. A month or two later, they're on sale for about 50% off. Sucks? Yup. Same with torchlight, bought it for me and a friend for 7.5€ (already a temporary discount) and a month later it's flying out for 2.5 €. Ah well. Enough upsides to offset the downside, I say.
I've even had the luck once to be online during a 2-hour only TF2 Halloween sale where they sold the game for 2€, bought it for friends of course.

Trine is on sale for 5€. If you like platformers and wonderful background art renders, it's a good pick. It's a nice little game.

Re: Steam sales thread and other bargain stuff
as I'm at work, I can't look at the price (blocked), nor can I look at reviews of OpF2 to see if it was ever patched up to playing decently (blocked). Any input on either?

Re: Steam sales thread and other bargain stuff
It's 75% off, coming down to 7 € for me. I'm guessing it'll be about the same price in dollars.
As for patches...it has been patched a few times and gotten some (free) DLC updates making it all very decent now (apparently), BUT 2-3 weeks ago Codemasters announced that it wouldn't release any more patches or DLC for the game so don't expect much more to be fixed by them. These types of games have a large fanbase though, so expect fan-made patches and overhauls to drastically improve the game at a later stage. Might well be worth dropping the cash on it even if you're not planning to play it right now, if it's your kinda game.
