Happy New Year and Happy Blue Moon y'all. We had people over for New Years Eve. Lots of Champaign consumed at our house tonight. Lots of love to y'all and hopes for a peaceful and loving year to come. /cheers

Not sure this is the right thread (/me makes implications about Shiny's sobriety when posting that post ;) ), but a happy new year to all of you from me just the same.

Kept it quiet...spent most of the evening at friends', then came home and watch Battlestar Galactica until 4 AM with a friend. Good times. :)

Happy new year y'all!
I had some people over at my house, then went to the city centre. Came back home around 6.30. And now my room smells of cigars, blegh.

Indeed, Happy New Year to you all. I don't ever celebrate it but actually went out for the first time this year. Went round to my managers house with a few colleagues and got very, very drunk. I owned them all on Singstar and Mariokart though before passing out about 5am. I don't remember anything after 2am though... :S

Happy new year. I was with my brothers family at my summer apartment in Pärnu which is the summer capital of Estonia. No drinking and no passing out :D.

Lol well it's not as bad as it sounds as I'm quite a lightweight. Having said that *checks bottle* about two thirds of a 70cl bottle of vodka. Only the second time in my life I've been that bad, I'd sworn never to drink that much again though... oh well, I blame my colleagues.

yea, I've gone through the "I'll never drink that much again" phase on quite a few occasions. Funny how those promises tend to fade with time. I figure as long as you don't die, crap yourself, or throw up on a hottie, it's ok.

notice there was an 'or' in that sentence, not an and. Any in isolation is too far... all together.... well, you should probably be filming anti-alcohol commercials.

Heh, as a corpse that shat itself after throwing up on a hottie? ;)

I would add "drinking yourself into a delirium or coma" to that. I've seen that happen a few times, and it ain't pretty. :o (no not to me)

It's basically booze-induced psychosis

http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency ... 000766.htm

Delirium tremens

Seizures Delirium tremens is a severe form of alcohol withdrawal that involves sudden and severe mental or neurological changes.

Causes

Delirium tremens can occur after a period of heavy alcohol drinking, especially when the person does not eat enough food.

It may also be triggered by head injury, infection, or illness in people with a history of heavy alcohol use.
