Whats ever cooler about the open dialog is their mouths move during the conversation. I had to zoom in and take a double take.
Also found "The Pearl"
This game is very very addicting but sometimes its EXTREMELY hard and Im playing on normal mode. I find myself having to save the game after clearing just about every room because if everything does not go perfectly I lose somebody.
My party is (levels 7-9)
Myself, Two-hand Warrior who has yet to pick up Berserker.
Alister, Tanking
Wynee, Healing(awesome awesome awesome to have)
Morrigan, ranged dps(I never have her change forms although I might start)
I been thinking about taking Alistar out and having myself tank. Seems like I lack damage or something. Before I got Wynee I was dying dying dying. Every fight, especially boss fights goes into the extreme on tactics, not game tactics but my personal tactics on how to kill these motherf**kers. Maybe after I pick up Berseker I might do more damage, IDK. I think 2-h sucks personally. Big hits but too slow dps.
SPOILER ALERT
So far the coolest place I have been to is the Fade. The sloth demon was a BITCH. I just keep my character in Stone form.

Yeah, I have the same idea on two-handed warriors. They do a shitload of damage on a hit, but a) they're so slow that they're often interrupted and b) they seem to be dying excessively fast. Sten has about the same armor and defense values as my main (if 1/2 his HP total) but still takes it like a bitch in every somewhat difficult fight. I found that damage-dealer rogues (duelists and assassins) do an equally good job to dish out damage when using two swords, plus they tend to be relatively "free" on the battlefield - warriors and mages are always the prime targets.
And yeah, some fights...I hate archers. Goddamn shattering shot is ANNOYING, for one.
11B, I'm playing on hard and I 'accidentally' killed Wynn before she could ever join me, so I have no healer. My only mage so far (Morrigan) doesn't know a single healing spell. I'm hurtin' a lot. But I managed to get this far without lowering difficulty so...maybe I'll even make it to the end.
P.S. oh and the Fade is amazing

Yea the rogues have a higher change of dodging attacks so they are good against archers etc but dont bring them into melee range of boss mobs, they are instant floor color

I noticed something in the Fade because almost the entire time in the fade you alone. I had never paid attention much to my main while in combat before when he was attacking in a group because Im micomanaging the group. It wasnt until I was in the Fade that I noticed my main, being a 2-hand wielder, was doing different finishing moves when killing enemies. It was totally awesome. Dont know if this happens just in the fade or after you reach a certain level or what(cause I leveled up twice in the fade). I have had a chance to take notice after the fade because I have'nt had a chance to play lately.
Tactics involving using potions. I noticed that if I put in a tactic for Wynee to use a mana potion when her mana is below 25% sometimes she stops doing anything if Im out of potions.
I also found that during boss fights having Wynee focus healing on Alister is a pro strat.
Wynee
If Alister health < 75%, Heal
If Ally health < 50%, Heal
works great.
Probably Im having with Morgian is I read that Cold spells where great for her but that are all FF which sucks. Cone of cold + high crits by my main works great as long as she doesnt freeze me as well.
Anyone using Traps?

Me neither, but I should probably look into it. Could soften up a lot of boss fights (like trapping the area a dragon will spawn in...cheese tacts ftw) I reckon. I never even laid one so far though, wouldn't even know how. Imma look into it now.
And yeah 11B, the finishing animations are pretty hot. They're even better for dual-wielders and rogues, imho. Also, some bosses have a special 'death animation' if you finish them off with a melee blow.
Re: Morrigan's cold spells...winter's grasp is supreme (as you no doubt found out), but yeah, frost weapons and cone of cold are less useful. But the top-tier cold spell, Blizzard, is awesome. It is the perfect spell to counter open area fights with a group of archers. It slows, stuns and damages all the time, taking them out of the equation for most of the battle and softened up for when you're going after them. Without blizzard I simply wouldn't have been able to win quite a few battles.
Cheese tactic pro tip: you can cast blizzard (and other area spells) from one room into another, don't even need to open a door.
Also, I try to give my melee tanks a rank in poison making. Not so much to have them make poison, but you can't use bombs without poison making so...and bombs work wonders.

I started controlling Mor to use cone of cold and I found a great way to use it. I get Alister and my main to engage(this works extremely well with mulitiple targets), I move Mor into a flanking postion and pause, then setup cold of cold so it gets like 2-4 targets without hitting my characters and bang, mass crowd control.

I really didnt use it at all because I was relying on tactics and she would freeze everyone.

I sometimes freeze my party members as well when their repositioning yields little difference. And once they break the first ice stun, i mind blast them into second stun and refreeze.

Just leveled Morrigan and got Force Field. Excellent for when you have a character about to die and good for CC.

11B, how well does forcefield work? Ie, if you send in a tank alone right into the heart of the battle and he gets surrounded by enemies, do they keep focusing on him once you use force field on him? Or do they shift focus and move targets?
If they keep on the spot...wow. Would make an excellent combination with blizzard + tempest + inferno.

They keep attacking him until until they lose aggro or someone else pulls them off, I think. Ill have to double check. Its also good for CC bosses while you clean a room. Ally in the force field can be heal but cant use a potion.

Mm interesting, thanks. Yeah those boss battles with tons of pesky archers are annoying, especially because most boss characters deal insane amounts of melee damage. This could be very useful. Not sure if I'll still be able to get Morrigan the skill though, but at lvl 16 there are still a few levels possible and I can buy some of those skillbooks.
Currently postponing the second part of the Redcliffe quest and doing all the minor signboard quests for XP and money. I've also travelled all around Ferelden to buy recipes for grenades and healing poultices, and backtracked through the Deep Roads of Orzammar with a rogue (didn't have one with me before) to pick up loot, pick locks and collect a legendary sword and armor.
Next up are an attempt at that dragon in the forest, you know who I mean. If that fails I'm off to finish the Redclfife quest.
EDIT: also, I took a berserker specialization and only just now realized that everyone can take 2 specializations.
