yea, I like their newer records. Not so big on the older stuff. I like Hypnotize. Have you heard about his (the singer's) solo stuff? A bit different but I still like it.

This song by The Streets does such an amazing job relaying the feeling of a night out going completely wayward through a combination of alcohol and personal tragedy. Both the lyrics and the sinister atmosphere of the song are so fitting.

Of course I don't do dope, but the net result is the same; this thick haze you move through, not giving a fuck after you've just been backstabbed by someone you love, making a complete ass out of yourself.

Good radio music. Abstract enough to enjoy a few times and not too annoying or catchy.

heh...that sounds so retro-80s. Neither this nor the previous do much for me, I'm afraid, but they don't make me cringe either. I have nothing new to share from a music perspective.

However, is anyone familiar with amiestreet.com? I'd heard of it but never really checked it out until recently. Basically you can buy music there like at Amazon or itunes or whatever, but it's all mp3s (drm free) and the pricing model is unique. Basically the prices start off low and go up as popularity goes up, with a max price of 98cents per track.

For example, the album Sidewinder by Download is $1.12, 14cents a track. http://amiestreet.com/music/download/sidewinder/

On amazon it's $7.92, 99cents a track. The more obscure the artist, the cheaper the music. It's pretty freakin' brilliant in my opinion.

So a Beatles or Wacko Jacko album costs tons? It's kinda funny cause it's exactly the other way around in retail stores: they popular artists' albums are cheaper because they are sure to sell in good amounts, but the obscure artists'albums are always full price because they need to make good on their purchasing and stocking investment with a good chance of not selling the album. :?

So yeah, this might just be a major market exploit. I'll go check for some of my fav obscure artists :)

Meh - some of my fav small-time artists are barely on there :(

oh, yea, forgot to mention that... not every artist is on there. :( Suckage. But even the really big popular artists are only 98 cents a track at most, so it's still comparable to the other options.

Poking around some, it looks like their catalog is lacking a LOT of options... oh well. Anyway, I figure I'll check on here first, and if it's not here I can check Amazon. Screw Apple.

I fucking hate that song. Good thing I never listen to the radio, save for Radio 1 on sunday for live football.
