lol, that's totally hot. I like the way the guy with the shield is blocking for the flag runner. Pretty neat stuff. I also like the thrown knife kill on the sniper at the end of the video.

Not to poop on the party or anything, but while that video does look hot I doubt that actual online play will be anything like that. Nadespam incoming!

Also, the shield guys meets like 3 people who can't seem to get around his shield in any way, with the flagrunner only appearing after a few seconds to pick them off as they desperately try to circle the übershield. Looked kinda...bizarre.

On the bright side: graphics look tight, and the blood spatters on the vision are very well done. But also: AUTOMATIC INSTANT HEALTH REGENERATION RAAAAGH DIE CONSOLE KIDDIES DIE. Or something.

Hehe, im with you Ox. I find no appeal in the video whatsoever. Now, If they were to use such a slick engine for Operation Flashpoint / ArmA type game, that's a different story.

Well, Call of Duty just died on the PC: Infinity Ward announced there will be no dedicated server support. Now it not only plays like a console game, it will just be one. You know what? Fuck you Infinity Ward, I hope you choke on the millions of cash you make off your dumbed down console auto-aim on-rails console shooter.

Anyway, I just hate the direction gaming is going. You seem to be awfully calm under the fact that, bascially, MP mods for MW2 will be impossible. For such a major title to get raped on the PC platform is just amazing. Says enough about the future really.

Before long I'll be reduced to playing DOS games and indie stuff to actually feel like a PC gamer again.

Ox we've been through this already. There more you resist change the more things change. Either go with the flow or stand back and wait for the bus to come back on a round trip because its bound to happen. stuff works in a spiral manner, the question is just will you see it come back around. Im not telling you to go buy a console but theres no point in getting pissed about it either. Some time in the future when everyone has a console people will realise "Hey i'll be the cool one and play on PC" or the IP companies realise that the console market is full but the PC market still has room. And once the laptops gain enough power they will become more attractive than a console because they are portable. So sit back, relax, and just wait for the shitstorm to make its round.

haha... I agree. People have predicted the death of PC gaming for freakin' ever... it's not going to happen. As long as there are people that play games on PC, there will be a PC gaming market. Hell, I hope it partially dies out if only because it'll let me get in and make some money myself.

Peltz is right, of course, and most of the time I don't go apeshit over stuff like this, I promise. But meh. Don't tell me you like it when inventory screens (notably) are too small, clunky to manoeuvre and can only be closed with a 'button' - all clear console properties that haven't been properly transformed to a PC interface. It's mostly those things I hate. That and details, intellectual amibitons and sharp edges being polished off every title to fit in that precious mainstream console selling scheme.

I don't even care about MW2 mostly. But the dedicated server announcement just confirms how the game is now almost a pure port from the Xbox. Which is a shame given the series' roots. Ah well.
