Anyone see the terminator flick yet? Any good? Not that I won't go and see it anyway, but y'know.

No, haven't had time. Over all it was supposed to be decent, though.

We watched Terminator: Salvation today. It wasn't bad. It wasn't insanely awesome either, but it wasn't too bad. Granted, there were some plot holes you could drive a submarine through, and the future wasn't as grim as I would've liked, but it was still pretty good overall.
So, anyway, go see it, just don't expect to walk out with your life changed.

Forgot to say I saw it too yesterday. I agree with wat you said, good nerd action entertainment, but nothing spectacular. Not anywhere as good as T2 (which is probably the best sequel of all time), but not bad.
Some remarks:
- Can't Christian Bale talk normal anymore? It's always this gruffy throat cancer voice, same in The Dark Knight.
- When Kyle drives the car he goes "I've never driven a car before" and he's driving it like an experienced rally driver. lolwtfktnxbai?
Etc. But yeah, it was fun. Definitely worth your money, if only to uphold your nerd crediblity.

heh...yea....and what kind of genius resistance leaders of the future broadcast radio waves from their secret base? And why the hell can a terminator motorcycle be driveable by a human under any circumstances? And why is the terminator base not absolutely crawling with terminators? But anyway, it was still good fun.
We actually wanted to watch Watchmen, but it appears to be out of theatres at this point.

lol @ the radio broadcasting. That was hilarious. Also, why weren't they detected by one of the hydro thingies in the first place? Sure, the ocean's a big place, but given enough of those things, presumeably equipped with sensitive equipment, they'd be found out sooner or later. A sub as safe base only makes sense in general "we killed ourselves!" or "zombies took over" post-apocalyptic world, not the terminator universe. Guess the writers got carried away. Oh and WTFBBQ at Connor just jumping into a stormy ocean with 10 foot waves from a helicopter with no real sense of knowing where the sub is? If I were following a guy willing to take on THOSE odds, I'd pack my bags and find a sensible leader asap.
Too bad about Watchmen! I hope you guys have a big tv with nice HD - the visuals are pretty outstanding. As is the movie in general, probably the best comic book adaption ever (if sometimes a bit too respectful, making the film feel scattered at times...but it's worth it even if only for the awesome intro).

Our tv is 32"...so not too shabby, and yes it's capable of HD (1080i). And we have a nice sound system too, so it should be good. According to what I read the movie should be coming to DVD in August. I'll get it then. To be honest, I actually prefer watching movies at home to the theatre. I can pause to pee, for one. Then there's the lack of irritation like kids and babies and cell phones and crap. Dude, there was a child at the Terminator movie. Like, 5 year old kinda child. WTF? What kind of fucked up parents take their kid to see something as dark and adult as terminator?

Pause to pee? If you can't hold it for 2 hours you might want to consult with a doctor for a prostate exam. Nah, I know what you mean...even if you don't really HAVE to go you start milling it over in your head up to the point that you go and once you're peeing you think "that it? Lame.". That's what social situations will do to a person! They're eval.
Talking about kids, I saw the same thing once during the premiere of I Am Legend. 2 small kids were running around and squeaking down the room, near the screen. The parents took them out after 15 minutes or so because it was obviously fucking up the movie (was a smallish theatre) , but dude, I Am Legend was a pretty fucked up movie too. Why would you want to expose your kid to that?

bah, you have no taste. Or maybe I just have an irrational love for dystopian futures. And human-killing robots.

Anyone see the new Transformers movie? I want to see it so bad.
lol @ Derf"s jade. You, sir, are truly the king of jade. My jaded hat is off to thee.
(actually, I know you just have a bizarre like/dislike system, which for some reason makes 95% of everything you see, hear or play look like utter shite )

haha, yea, Derf's pretty amazing with his anger/hatred issues.
I haven't seen the new transformers yet... is it out? I thought it was this coming weeked. Not that I'm gonna watch it.
BTW, not sure if I mentioned it, but we watched the new Star Trek. It was ok. Compared to the utter dreck that was the latest half dozen movies, it was downright awesome... but taken in comparison with good movies it was pretty meh. Your mileage may vary, of course.
