 Twisted Bathroom Tiles
I'm planning to set aside an hour or two on something creative i've been wanting to do for years. It's very much related to bathroom tiles, but has a very cool twist. You'll have to wait until it's done, but in the mean time I have to figure out the best way to photograph a bathroom tile.
Anyone have any tips?

I would suggest taking the picture outside in the normal daylight without using the flash on the camera, or really really soft flash if its a compact camera (opposed to dslr).
Now if the tile is attached to the wall then i'm afraid you have to cut a piece out of the wall so you can take it outside and snap a picture of it.

Definitely need as much natural light as possible.
Reflective tiles? Matt?

Yeah, reflective, which is a bitch. And stuck on the wall, which is also problematic I'll try and get some photos before the sun goes down today.
After that ill need to use Gimp or Photoshop or something. I need to boost the contrast of the photo, then figure out how to do selective tinting.

I really don't understand gimp. It seems great for complex stuff, but the simple things (like for instance trying to move a selection) I can never get to work.

Try Paint.net It does a lot of easy to intermediate stuff, though it's no Photoshop.
