Post Braid
So I got the demo for this game on Xbox Live, and I will very definitely be buying the full version soon. :) It's a beautifully painted game (with nice classical music), and at times it shows flashes of artistic genius that I haven't seen for a while in games.

The platform-style design looks simple but hides an intricate design. The puzzles are challenging but never impossible. In fact, the "official walkthrough" on the Braid site pleads with the player to not use a walkthrough, and that all puzzles can be solved with logical thought. Slight lol. :)

To give you a little taste of how good the demo alone is: you're collecting puzzle pieces in the levels and can use them to assemble a painting in one of them. The overall goal of the world is to finish the painting. But near the painting are two puzzle pieces that are (seemingy) out of reach. By partially assembling the painting and manipulating it, you can use it 'in the real world', ie the level, to reach the last two pieces and complete it. Not gonna say how but it's pretty clear.

Hard to explain just writing that, perhaps..so if you're curious wtf I just said just get the demo and try it. What i've seen so far points in the direction of a creative piece of art.

Oh and it's coming to the pc too, soon! Indie developers such as these deserve all the support they can get so i might download it for the pc too after finishing the Xbox 360 version. :)

Have been playing Braid, and it's a wonderful game. The art design is immaculate, the atmosphere palpable and the gameplay is very rewarding and challenging at the same time. Simply wonderful.

Once you figure out how to solve a problem it's just wonderful to see it executed in the game. Nothing but praise from me so far, and at a good price on Steam. :)

you're like the independent developer whore. Which is fine, I guess, since I'll be joining those ranks sooner or later.

Cool, didn't know a 2 was being made. :)

I'll never be your whore Satis. I pledged that part of myself to Derf already. :P Hehehe. Anyway, indie developer or not, the game is pretty mindblowing. Almost at the end now and I've done some things in there that still make my head spin, in terms of creative thinking. :o

It's too hard to explain without actually doing it, but in one level where you can work with an "alternate reality you" I let my myself be killed by a monster by having it land on top of me, which then bounced into the air...only to rewind time, have my alternate reality me get killed instead, so I could jump unto the monster that just bounced off alternate reality me, propelling 'proper me' to the desired platform.

I know it doesn't make sense. That's why you need to play it. :P
