Is there a difference between weapons? or is it just cosmetic and ammo cap?

Between weapon types, yes. Like SMG vs Rifle.

But between models, I dont know. Like MP40 vs Thompson.

For range, I suppose the easy way to find out is to hold CTRL and read the meter number when the target dot is at maximum.

had another stab at coop. really liked it.

it can get immensely fiddly to the point of almost losing control when you get attacked, but the satisfaction i get from setting up my men exactly how i want them is god damn good.

Can't wait. Unfortunately, the game keeps locking up my box so I still need to figure out what's going on first. Sigh. But I hope to help yopu guys out soon.

My god the ai is as stupid as a tree log. I constantly loose artillery because they keep looking at a single soldier and an entire german parade walses right past them. And then theres the tanks, they keep looking at a soldier miles out of their range and miss the enemy vehicles right next to them.

Hehe, just played wit Peltz on a coop mission. Didn't have a clue what we were doing but we pulled off a victory in the end.

Awesome game.

Some funny commando moments gone wrong, mostly trying desperately to take out tanks with infantry (AT grenades and looted Bazooka)

Oh and Peltz, thanks for "nudging" my truck and setting it to explode Hollywood style.

Had we got that 88 up, we would have had a right laugh.

I love the loot factor.

I think im going to use a slightly different personal squad setup. I used to have a 4 man fire team working with a 4 mann assault team:

Fire = 3x rifles, 1 x MG
Assault = 4 x SMG (+ a shit load of grenades)

Very powerful, but not very flexible and takes long to organise.

I'm going to change to 3 man multipurpose teams:

1 x rifle, 1 x MG, 1 x SMG

Faster to move and assemble.

Man I need to sort out my crash issues so I can join in the fun with you guys. And then I'll blow a hole in Derf's defensive line by having a flamethrower guy explode near his infantry.

i never had the chance to use flamer troops yet. mind you i keep seeing crazy new guns all the time.

Yeah, not being able to get the mortars in range was a bummer. we had 2 of em. cant remember what cal they were. they looked something like 60mm which would have been fun to watch.

I love the little details, like hearing a bullet banging into a helmet...and once the game gets going it's the closest thing to an actual field battle I've seen in a game so far, with all the sound effects and physics in full orchestra.

Now all we need is a WWI version of the game with all-out trench slaughter.
