Post Beer!
Just had a chilled bottle of Hoegaarden whilst cooking over the BBQ.

God damn you Belgians are good at this.

I've got some various other beers in the fridge which I will sample perhaps once a day to enjoy them at maximum.

Delerium nocturnum isn't bad either. My favorite beer is Kostritzer, though... German, like all good, manly beers.

From American, I'm a big fan of Shiner as a day-to-day beer. Either black or bock are my favorite varieties, though they come in quite a range.

Had some anchor steam in San Fran... quite good

Then another local-to-Texas beer company is really good. Real Ale. Unpasteurized, though, so I doubt you can find this one in Europe.

Don't listen to him Derf! German and American beers are infinitely inferior! ;)

Nah; Shiner Bock is good. Can't remember trying Köstritzer but I must have drunk it at least once when on a beer-fueled rampage through Germany.

Anyway, Belgian tips...

Just to throw it out there - definitely a lighter beer but good is Czechvar.

I actually found a blueberry lager (I know sounds like it'd be nasty but it's very good) Called Wild Blue.

Kwak was not great in my opinion. Delirium Nocturnam / tremans are good. They actually do a beer for Christmas called Noel that is good too but only found Decemberish.

Czechvar isn't bad. I imagine you euros should be able to find it considering your relative proximity.

Wild blue is surprisingly good. Seriously. You wouldn't think it, but it's pretty damned decent. Worth a try if you see it.

I hope I can find wild blue somewhere around here, sounds interesting. Especially considering that you guys like it and hate every other fruit beer.

Chzechvar looks like the Budvar (the original) they serve in the Czech Republic. I drank it on a few occasions, pretty good beer but then most Czech ale is. Liked Gambrinus better though.

Leffe is not good to drink from the bottle.

It has this annoying foil wrap that's impossible to remove. If you take it off, the glue underneath smells like cow shit.

The delirium nocturnum/tremens bottles have the same annoying foil thing. Doesn't smell quite as bad, I suppose, but it's still annoying to remove and you're likely to accidentally swallow chunks.

That's why people invented glasses. So that you don't have to drink out of the bottle

But serieusly, leffe out of the bottle of leffe in it's own glass is a difference, you should drink every beer in the appropriate glass.
