 Six days in Fallujah
I think Satis commented somewhere that he would like to see a game based on the more recent wars, well here you go, Six days in Fallujah.

but other than war, cod4 shares almost nothing in common with the current conflicts. The scenarios are pure fantasy.

I wouldnt get any hopes up for the fallujah game to be anykind of a masterpiece either. Its just a game based on a real battle.

Wouldn't 6 days in Fallujah amount to you dodging tons of FF, suicide car bombings and bombarding the nearby hills for invisible snipers?
I can see the quicktime events when a teammate points his gun at you before me...*press X to dodge bullet*

More likely press A to step into teammates line of fire. Press W to approach the car bomb and press Fire to call airstrike on your team location (broken arrow)

I'm not sure how good a game you could make in a single city... it certianly wouldn't be very varied. Though it was lots of house-by-house combat. I think it would make a nice expansion pack to an FPS.
Anyway, I'm not sure I'm ready for an Iraq/Afghanistan game yet. But how about some of the smaller wars? Like something based off the real wars in Africa, or even something on the 80s invasions like Panama or Granada. I think Iraq/Afghanistan is still a little too fresh in most people's minds for a good interpretation.

O, you mean for single player. I was thinking multiplayer. You really cant make a current game without crossing some political boundaries for your customers.

Yeah, i meant SP.
Anyway, i think this setting has potential. I can see alot of value in 1 city. The bit that worries me is the 6 days bit. Doesn't sound like a long campaign. Saying that im not exactly expecting any decent from this. You know what i think of games these days.
As for the political correctness, I think we're ok. There are other Iraq/Astan games out there.

What Derf thinks of games these days is "apart from L4D and that medieval RTS I bought, all games are utter shite".

that sounds about accurate. I bet Derf is secretly a game reviewer somewhere.
Anyway, who knows, the game may be decent. Be nice if it were. Some day I'll be making my own crappy FPS.
