heh...no worries. Ordinarily I would have just shrugged it off as "he's a foreigner", but then I remembered you were a teacher. I didn't realize Dutch pluralization worked like that in some cases. Strange. But makes the mistake significantly more understandable. Unfortunately it's common place in the US, where people speak only one language and speak it poorly.

Always amazed me that. There are a lot of English-speaking people who have a hard time distinguishing between your & you're and woman & women when writing...guess spelling isn't one of their strong suits, but still.
I propose a radical simplification of English spelling, kinda like they did with Turkish a century or so ago. It's a well documented fact that English is a very tough language to master because of its crazy-ass spelling and idioms. Well not for a living GOD like me, but y'know.

hehe.... English really is a difficult language because of all the exceptions to rules. But that doesn't mean other language aren't hard...like say, Chinese and Arabic. I wouldn't necessarily be averse to an official rewriting of the language, but who would have the authority to do that? Americans? The English? Australians?

It's not really that much of a deal, just assemble a committee of experts with proportional representation of all major English-speaking countries and have them go at it...after all basic simplification of the language isn't (much) affected regional differences. Surely 'armor' is simpler spelling than 'armour', regardless of your nationality?
Dutch is in a similar situation, albeit on a much smaller scale, with two major variations (the 'Dutch Dutch' and 'Flemish Dutch'). There are several cooperative international institutions who're concerned with spelling reformation etc. Academics being what they are they are often concerned with trivial stuff, but whatever. The result is that there is a generally accepted "Standard Dutch" pronunciation and unified spelling rules. We may use different words and expressions, but we do spell words the same way.
It's different for languages that are only really spoken in one (large) country and a tons of smaller colonies, like France. They quite literally own their own language.

/me decides not to tell Satis about the effect speaking French has on women English...doesn't impress quite so much
P.S. women from countries where the language isn't common, I mean. It doesn't really work in Belgium.

I don't speak French and I'm proud of it.

Some actual music: Jamie T, 'So lonely was the ballad'

He's something of a spoken word poet, it's an acquired taste but pretty brilliant.

Well, I've been recently discovering new bands that I like. One example is Suicide Commando, another is Wumpscut. Here's a remix of a Suicide Commando song by Wumpscut.

Here's another one from Suicide Commando, "See you in hell". Good stuff... and actually a video to go with it this time.

Couldn't open the first link at work, but the second one was pretty good. Weird and a little creepy, but really good song.
Reminds me a little of "The Horror" by RJD2

Unfortunately I can't get to youtube from work, hence the off-the-wall video websites. I tried using my cellphone but it's not so great at streaming video.
Actually, I was able to stream that song to my phone after all. I like it.

I spent some time listening to more tracks from RJD2 on youtube... pretty good stuff. It's not really in my genres, but I like it. Anything else non-eurotrash you want to share?
Some more stuff from me.

I knew T. Raumschmiere, and I liked Electro Synthetic Rebellion
This probably qualifies as eurotrash for you, but what about Gogol Bordello? Gipsy punk they call it - great drinking/partying music in any case.

And some Belgian flavor...an older song, but still good. The band is the pride of Antwerp, dEUS.
