Pev, in what way are you fussy about how the phone looks? In a 'must be pretty' or 'keep it simple' way? Most girls I know base their choice of phone for about 30% on its functions and 70% on the style/looks, so just wondering.

Personally I always keep it simple. It's a little paradoxical, because I can get very excited about technology, but when it comes to phones I usually couldn't care less. Probably has to do with my dislike for calling people (I still rarely ever do).

Lol I don't know, I can't explain it. I just hate 99% of phones. HOWEVER unlike most people, if I see a phone I like the functionality of, I'd choose it over one that looked ok but was shit. Generally though they're either stupidly square things or horribly rounded fat blobs. I dislike both. I also hate anything that flips (too bulky) or slides (too annoying to get to the buttons in a rush) or... well... most stuff. And I hate all the chavy type ones with random flashing lights or jewellry or whatever crap you can get for them.

Nokia 3310 style is still, in my opinion, the ideal shape (though thinned down) for me (and preferably in the sexy brushed silver of my current phone!)

Ditto on the calling people, I hate using phones in general, the only times I've happily used them was when me and Mole lived apart (call every night lol) and at work (though that's not so much happily as have to). I don't call anyone other than Mole if I really need him desperately (usually just text) or my parents (and they usually call me). My phone is for texting and texting only really. Generally use £20 every 3 months. I get 300 free texts per month for topping up £10, I don't use all of those and generally by the end of the second month, I still have about £10 left on my phone anyway, so I just don't top up for the third month and use that £10 for my texts instead of getting 'free' ones.

I must admit I'm very much a 'this gadget does what it should' kind of person. If I could have a 'good' camera phone, then ok, great, but I'd rather have a 'great' phone and a 'great' camera. Things build with one purpose in mind are 99% of the time better at that job.

I agree, but I don't carry my camera. I do carry a phone/pda and my mp3 player... if I could have a phone that did all those things equally well I'd be much happier. If it had a multi-tool built in I'd be in bliss.

My phone is enough mp3-player to me. 1GB is plenty of space for the short trips I make. Basicly my Nokia does everything I want. No matter what camera I carry, my photographs will always crap anyway.

I agree on the camera thing; rarely do I have my real camera with me and even when I do I don't take many pictures. Generally I use my phone camera for taking random pictures of people being stupid (not as often as you'd think surprisingly) and usually take my proper camera if I go back to my parents or go on holiday somewhere, where it usually gets used on landscapes.

My mp3 player... well while Mole's phone is ok with music, I haven't tried mine and would rather have my iPod with me anyway. Doesn't exactly take up a ton of extra space

Truthfully the main reason I got my Iphone was not the hype related to it. It was because I was sick of carring around a camera, phone, pda, mp3 player, game system (DS), and nav system. Too much to bring in my purse. So, while it is not great at all of those, it works well enough to leave the other stuff at home, unless I know for SURE I need them (ie trips and concerts).

But for random, waiting in the lobby of dentist/doctor, running around town doing errands/gym. the iphone is fine.
