Don't be a stranger. I don't post often as time is hard for me to find, so I post at lunch at work or right before work.

welcome back! Maybe this time you'll stay around for a bit. Grats on the kid and career change. What're you doing now? Truck driving? Digging oil wells?

Wow, somebody used the rod of resurrection on 11B? What up dawg? We still cool and keepin' it real here. Lost a few people along the road but I'm still here, which is the most important thing really. Welcome back and congrats on the second kid.
I think my little brother does a similar job to yours, only in chemistry (there are no oilfields in Belgium). You working shifts? Cause that's good money.

I used to work on coking when I was in college, though not the same kind. How's that going for you? I'm guessing the money's better than IT crap.

Better money, less stress, better benefits, more fun. But more physical labor.

yea...really, an active job is a damned good thing. I spent a lot of time outside of work exercising now... it's either that or get fat. Having a job that keeps you thin and in shape would be kinda nice. How's it brain wise, tough? I mean, the Army was fairly tough physically but it didn't exactly keep my brain stimulated.

I'm not getting stimulated at work at all, not mentally and not physically. I actually always volunteer for moving paper stacks and all that kind of crappy menial work, just to do SOMETHING during the day.
I keep busy outside of work tho. I don't have a car so I walk and ride my bike a lot, and I do sports at least twice a week.
Satis, you go to the gymn and excercise? Cause I think that's kinda lame. :p I dislike the gym, simply because it's such a borefest. Like running for the sake of running. I need a competitive element or I can't be bothered.

hah. Yes, I go to the gym. I compete with myself mainly... trying to go faster/longer than the previous time. Besides, it's all in the pursuit of being even more attractive than I already am. How can you beat that? It's like every day, perfection gets even more perfect. Besides, I didn't go to the gym for years and got pretty poochy as a result. This is definitely better.
Err, anyway, my job I sit at a desk most of the time. But it's very mentally stimulating.

My job has is more physical than my old job for sure but its more dangerous. The risk of explosions, or death by H2S, fire, etc. It has some down time where you just sitting around bullshitting but when the unit is upset or there is alot of work going on your constantly on your feet, climbing towers, etc. It is mentally challenging as well because you constantly have to think about the process during a unit upset or your training for emergency situations.
