Post Pandemic 2
This (flash) game is awesome and sick (heh) at the same time: you design your own supervirus and have it mutate and spread until you kill off the entire world.

I've designed a parasite virus that's been creeping under the radar and slowly infecting the entire population...started out in Argentina, 'bred' to strength for a while and now has virtually the entire world infecte, except for Madagascar. :/

After infecting millions my insidious parasite has been discovered - I plan to strike with the first symptoms soon. :) No one has actually died from my disease yet, because I had no 'effects' mutate yet. But they're about to find out.

Anyone who loved Defcon should like this...it's kinda simple but plays well

awesome game. I totally dominated humanity (on casual). I was lucky that the cure failed.

I did it again with a parasite. Kept that sucker under the radar until every country became infected, then twisted it into a murdering monster. By the end it was causing necrosis, sweating, sneezing, and a few other things.

Good stuff. I'll probably play it again in the near future.

Wtf man, either I suck donkey ass at this game, or I'm really unlucky, or you're some sort of twisted virus-designing mastermind. :P I haven't managed to beat the game even once now, on quite a few tries. :(

I keep getting pwned by Madagascar - them bastards close the ports at the drop of a hat and then become untouchable. :( I managed to kill off the entire planet several times, but Madagascar always prevails and safeguards humanity's future. :?

One time I had all hospitals in the universe shut down before they even had enough time to develop a vaccine for my disease, not even a crappy one. After that I sold all my 'killer' symptoms and kept a control group of 331 survivors in China (and smaller groups in some other countries). Deaths stabilized and I began choosing some more infectious traits in a desperate attempt to infect Madagascar still. But no beef.

Even though all hospitals were shut down -postponing the vaccine to infinity- and the entire world population outside of Madagascar was reduced to a 1000 people or so, I couldn't beat humanity. :?

Apparently I'm not the only one to find Madagascar on his path :P

this one, about a bug causing greenland's hospital staying open despite killing every soul in the country, is hilarious

I've beaten the game at the easiest level. To be honest I think it's mostly boring, but when I started I wanted to finish.
Quick guide:
1. Immediately sell any symptom you start with, buy spreading by air and resistances level one (but not higher).
2. Go do do something fun.
3. If all the region's have infections, buy more resistance and effects.
4. Wait until you're finished.

lol, you're not fun.

But yea, immediately sell off any symptom.

Add more infections... I go for water and air. The rest are icing on the cake if you have the money.

Buy drug resistance so you spread a little faster at first, otherwise it seems your virus or whatever may be accidently cured (your infected numbers occasionally go down).

Wait until it spreads everywhere.

Add symptoms that kill.

Watch as the world dies.

If you're bored at the easy (casual) difficulty, try realistic. It's much harder. Hell, for awhile I thought my parasite would just die off without going pandemic at all. I haven't managed to wipe out humanity yet, though I got close with only Peru surviving. Damn bastards without airports.

Wtf? I'm not even trying realistic yet, seeing as even relaxed seems to kick my ass. And I'm doing just the same thing as you guys! Before I can infect everything (usually the last bastion is Madagascar) ports are closed and they start working on a vaccine. Killing off the rest of mankind is still fun but not as rewarding. :(

One plus: they can never, ever leave Madagascar. They might be quarantained but they're not vaccinated and they don't have a hospital to research a cure. :P

Still trying today. I think the reason why Arathorn doesn't like it as much is because of the long 'down time' in-game vis-a-vis time to spare. When you're at work like me (and assuming Satis), you just let it run in the background while doing other stuff. So what is a boring wait in your spare time becomes a fun distraction in between work on the job. ;)

The key is not to be too resistant and easy to spread. That's something governments are scared of, hence the port closing.

That's probably what I'm doing wrong...I cut out all symptoms and even limited the transmission (only rodents for example), but I did try tomake the virus more resistant - figured it wouldn't alarm anyway as long as nobody actually suffered from it.

I'll try it again today. :)
