Seriously, right? Bizzarely though, once I tell people about this they either completely spazz out or go "so?". On a more or less 50/50 basis.

Wtf @ second group. Sticking tampons drenched in alcohol up your cavities is pretty fucked up no matter how you look at it in my book.

One of them (a girl) even went all feminist on my ass because I said 'girls/women' when the article said 'young people'. Yeah, because a lot of straight males go around putting tampons up their ass to avoid gaining a pound from drinking. Sheesh.

Lol at that one. Imho, the best way to stop drinking is to overdose once, twice or three times. If you don't hate it after the third time, you should find some other technique perhaps. You may remember my drunken posts here. Now I am all the same happy with chamomile tea.

Hehe, true, it's a pretty sound way of stopping to drink. I usually only drink too much when it's been a (long) while when I last got way too drunk. When it's fresh in my memory, I tend to remember the horrible hangover, the sweating alcohol, the upset stomach and all that lovely stuff.

And no, "fresh in my memory" doesn't mean "anything over 2 days ago"

Lemme put it this way: if someone told me to stop drinking alcohol today for a good reason, I'd do it. Same with soda, same with fast food, same with sex (if I REALLY had to). I don't have an addictive personality by any means. But I know people that really need to be on their toes with any sort of potentially addictive activity/substance.

Just a heads up on the tampon thing Ox: in Belgium it's called 'slimmen' appearantly.
I expect some of my students to ask me if i know what it is, or probably if i sometimes do it (Sir do you sometimes engage in 'slimmen'?"), and i'll baffle them with my knowledge.

It's always hilarious to see their reaction if i'm up to date with some of the trends/hypes, mainly on internet. Like when i said i knew the word "swaffelen" for a couple of years already.

I have my youngest brother to keep me in touch with youth culture, so I hear ya. Good thing I rarely ever have to talk to young kids.
