Post X360: Picture with no sound.
I connect Xbox behind the TV into External 4. I switch on tv, choose External 4, and i get xbox dashboard but the sound only comes from TV speakers.

I have a sony dvd home theater system, but i cant get the sound to come through it. When i choose the TV input on the home theater sytem I get the sound from tv channels even if the TV is set on External 4.

Help :D

I attached the picture of the xbox cable i have (minus the scart) and a picture of the DVD systems backside. I was thinking that maybe i can connect the sound into Line 2 but i cant find any crossing that would help me.

The red and white you see on the picture come from my computer.

Ok, so you have the HDMI connector coming out of the XBOX360? So there's only one cable end on the far side?

Basically, what I have is a regular store-bought HDMI cable (not the xbox-360 branded one) that I have plugged into the back of my console. I then run that into the HDMI-in on my tuner. That's it. the only caveat is that the tuner needs to be on before I turn on the xbox360, otherwise the HDMI conversation (or hdcp, or whatever the hell it is) doesn't happen and I get no video or sound.

It's weird you get video but no sound, though, since both go through the same cable. With my tuner I can set the audio and video per 'channel' to come from two different inputs.. ie, I can have the video come from video input 3 and the audio come from fiber 1. Can you do that? If so, you may want to check it to make sure you're getting both audio and video from your HDMI input,

Nope, the hdmi cable goes into tv. I have that older model xbox without hdmi port.

I use the hdmi to watch dvds, it gives better colors on my ancient hd (720p) tv.
