Post Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway
FYI, I got this game over the weekend because I wanted to play something. It's not bad. Of course, I already finished it, so that should tell you it's fairly short. Still, I found it enjoyable.

The story seems to pick up from the previous 2 games... seeing as I never played those, I was a bit lost for most of the game as a result. I think I figured it out by the end, though, and I plan on playing back through the game on realistic. Maybe it'll make more sense a second time through.

The graphics are pretty. For some reason they make me think cartoon, though they're obviously meant to look fairly realistic. The squad tactics are fairly fun, though the level design tends to be a bit contrived. I'd love to see this kind of game with more openness, and maybe more squads.

Is realistic the highest setting? Or just realistic? :)

Realistic is the highest difficult setting and it's locked until you complete the game. There are two other settings, easy and something else (hard or normal or something, I guess). I played on that other setting and it was kinda easy.

Realistic just strips away your HUD. No crosshairs or anything else. I dunno, this game isn't bad but it's pretty lacking in the replay department.

I got this and completed is within 2-3 weeks.

Not bad.

I appreciate the cleverness of the sqaud control system ever since the first release. but i must say i slightly enjoyed more the previous 2 releases.

Graphics and sounds are great, but there no AA mode! bummer.

1 gripe is the feeling of security. i never came under attack at any point, it seemed i always had the initiative no matter how long my teams took cover for.

i dont appreciate the cutscenes at all.

some bits are just goddamn awesome and get you really fired up for a fight. i especially like the particular level where you start with a MG team and perhaps an assault team on an elevated position and a great view of the terrain. you know exactly what to do... deploy the MG on the elevated section and fire&manouvre with the assault team.

grenades are great fun.

i reckon there should be some kind of ammo limit.

I'll agree with you. Overall it was fun, but there were some pretty big problems with the mechanics. Still, not a bad waste of a few hours.
