No no it's not a matter of weeks. Now a whole bunch of different contractors need to do their thing, and they can't do it all at the same time. So it will still take a while. I guess we'll be able to move somewhere early next year or so.

Oh ok...well, at least you'll have a solid house when the financial world finally comes crashing down completely and everyone loses their savings! I'll be sleeping under a bridge, drinking my self-distilled moonshine.

Yeah everybody seems to be panicking about losing all their savings. I'm more like "savings? i have no savings so what do i care"
The wife works at fortis though (insurances, not the bank itself luckily) , so it's not that we're totally unaffected by the financial crisis.

Yea - I work in the financial field currently. Everyone is in a panic. The agents, the policy holders, my coworkers. I figure what happens happens. No sense in stressing about it. Plus I am a firm believer that when you are older and can not afford to take a risk, you should be in fixed holdings not the high risk. That would be their own stupidity.

The problem is in fact that everyone panics . If everybody would do nothing the hit would far lighter but since everyone put their interests before the common good then the following destruction is inevitable. But since we know that everybody will try to save their own ass first then if you do nothing you will carry the full loss. Lose - lose more situation, it was virtual money in the first place, so go figure.

I agree with both of you. In fact, this is a golden time if you want to make some money. There were stocks here in Belgium that went up 25% in three days or even in one single day...that's easy money. The risk is there, but fairly low because the stock prices are so low that there often isn't much of a realistic chance of them dropping even lower (some of them, I mean).
I see the crisis as a good thing: if everybody else loses their savings I'm on a level playing field, having no money to speak of. Bring it on!

At the current level of the financial crises, the only people really being hurt are the people with huge amounts of cash invested. So, basically, the fat asses. I could care less if they lose their shit.
Of course, it that keeps up for too long, it's bound to trickle down to us little people. Obviously I don't want that to happen.

But that isjust it eventually it will start to effect everyone. At some point those Corps losing their asses will have to start laying off people. People like me will stop getting their bonuses, which means I cut back on getting my nails done, or going out as much. Basically slowly everyone starts to hurt all because people are stupid and they don't have a clue what they are doing. And of course they will never put any of the blame on themselves.

The biggest retards of the moment are stockholders. Financial execs don't have any more room for fuck-ups, but stockholders are currently ruining their own stocks by mass-selling at every gust of wind. Suckers.

Indeed, just remember:
Poor people will become poorer because they buy junk. Rich people become richer because they buy stuff that actually grows in value.
So all those stockholders should have taken their money and invested in themselves, so they could make enough money to buy something that is surely expensive but which will never become cheap. Antique furniture, paintings etc. and then laugh at the people who loose money.
Anyway, people should know by now that the economy works in cycles, theres the growing cycle and then theres the fall. Now the smart people make money on both tides, knowing this one should look where he/she stands..

If you've still got cash, now's a good time to invest. Stocks are really low all around, but they don't accurately reflect the true value of the company (well, not all of them do, at least). You get in now and when the economy inevitably bounces back you could stand to make a lot of money.
On the flip side, the economy may not be done sliding. Bad luck if you invest in a company that fails before the economy recovers.

Nah, forget about it. Having insufficient light just because the architect of this building plainly suck bores me enough to give it up. Instead, I will focus on a detail from home.

Once I get my "gaming pad" set up I'll get you guys some pics. Between my dolby surround sound setup, 22" screen and tons of games boxes I should be able to build a nice little place for myself.
