I generally think bad of movie games but this actually looks top notch.

hmmm, odd. Some of the graphics look really good...some look really, really bad. The character animation looks like it's from a game 3 years ago. The physics looks cool. I just don't know what to think. I'll await reviews. :p

I think they need to tone it down for consoles.

Blah, it's sad how games are made for consoles so much. I'd rather they make a game for pc, then dumb it down for consoles... not make it for consoles and then screw us PC users.

In that regard, GTA is actually ok... they spend a long time improving textures and stuff for their pc version. Props to Rockstar.

Don't get me started about toning shit down for consoles. Many good franchises have been destroyed because they needed to appeal to the console gamers. I'm afraid Fallout 3 is going down that road too, I just hope it won't be too much.

One of the criticisms I've heard a few times already is the "jam content into every nook and corner of the world" thing F3 is supposed to have going on. I read a comment on it somewhere saying they needed to meet the "short attention span of the console gamer". Pretty much right on.

Bah. Lame ass dumbing down of the industry. I remember Alpha Centauri coming with a 300-page manual with back stories, referenced material and in-depth analysis of every aspect of the game. These days, a game is bad because it can't be explained in a tutorial in the first 5 minutes of the game. Lame.

But it's also in game concepts that suffer. Look at the inventory screen for Oblivion. Clearly designed for low res TV's and controllers in mind, but for the PC is was painful. You had to shuffle over to the keyboard and swing the mouse pointer around until you got RSI.

Edit: sorry about the attachment. I am totally shattered. Ive been working overtime this week.
