I guess we shouldn't be too worried about the quality of FC2
 | | | | Quote: PC Gamer gives FC2 94% score - "incredible"
PCGamer voted Far cry 2 a "Wild" 94% quoting its pros were Beautiful, Free roaming and Utterly Absorbing, and its cons were, its not a linear shooter, its not a prescribed story and its not going to let you go !
The basis of Far Cry 2's story telling: Characters and situations are swapped via a software author, its responding to choices made by you the player. Its something that's been on the cards for some time - mostly in research projects - but this is the first high-profile game to use it. Its nothing less than a revelation. What makes this procedural storytelling cool isn't that you get to play the game lots of times, and see new things happen, or do things in new ways, Its not even that it gives you stories to share, situations to compare with your friends. Its that the game just works and responds to your successes, failures and f*ckups. If you don't like what a guy is asking you to do, then don't do it... If you really like one of your buddies, you stick with him. When the situations force choices on you... By God, its incredible. | | | | |

The scans of the PC Gamer review

Must read, really. Some of the things in there make me want to wet myself. Seriously.
Putting your buddy down by jamming a pistol down their throat? Shiii-IIIIT!

What, are you sketching the web pages out on napkins, then scanning them into the computer to email them to me?

Ok, I read it all. Man oh man, I was excited before. I'm really, really excited now. I hope i'm not over-amping myself for this game. I'm positively stoked! And less than a week until release.

There's an article on gamespot about the level editor. Sorry, no link, I can't get to it from here. It's under PC previews, though. Basically they showed user created levels (user probably equals beta tester) that were neat... Eiffel tower, Giza, Venice, some other ones. Very nice. Sounds like a limit of 6 vehicles per level, which kinda sucks, but whatever.

I know, I'm actually getting more excited about it than Fallout 3 (which I was/am very excited about) and that's saying something. From all I see/read, this game could very well revolutionize shooters or at least give the first push.
Gotta watch out tho, because as hawt as this game will be there's no way it'll be as good as our very high expectations. At least that's what I tell myself to stop me from being (even the slightest) disappointed.
Oh and I hate you for getting the game earlier than me. Have to wait until Friday next week. Lame ass "Friday release day" in Western Europe.

heh...don't be too jealous. I'm going our of town that Friday for the weekend, so I may get it, but then I won't be able to play it for several days. I doubt my 2 year old laptop will play it.
