Shiny and my PCs may need some upgrades soon. Shiny's running with only 1 gig of RAM...another 2 gigs should run her around $60 I think. We also both have core2duo e6300s....definitely room to upgrade that. For $200 I can currently get a core2duo e8500 or core2extreme q6600. It'll probably be a few more months though, so I may be able to hold out for a better cpu.

hah, looks cool. I also hope it's more than just mindless killing, but we shall see. It certainly looks very, very promising. Just the fact you can have a dog is cool.

What's wrong with it? Too much cartoon violence? I thought it was pretty cool, although I would have preferred it if they didn't use real actors for the "informercials" but stuck to the ole' animations of yonder.

Hmm nice, the gameplay feels more like a Deus Ex game though but that isnt necessarily a bad thing.

Pretty much. And it screams console interface optimisation.
2nd video: OMG he's actually playing it on a console.

lmao...he's playing it on the Xbox because it has previously (like, a few hours earlier) been presented a Microsoft event, so they prefer to show Todd playing it on a Microsoft-owned product (Xbox) than a non-Microsoft pc. I think that's pretty much the only reason.
But Fallout 3 will be dumbed down for consoles, obviously. That's a given. On the bright side, S.P.E.C.I.A.L. is a pretty straightforward character system, unlike that of the TES games (which was dumbed down from Daggerfall -> Morrowind -> Oblivion until nothing much remained of it).
So I don't think that the basic game system will be that different from the original Fallout games. And judging by the gameplay, there'll be plenty of gore justifying an M rating. I hope so...no need to dumb stuff down for console kiddies.

I'm not too concerned. I think the game will be really good. Then again, I really like GTA too....so maybe you guys just have higher expectations than me.

heh...you'd think we would have learned our lesson after the Oblivion build-up and the subsequent relative letdown. But nah, I think it's gonna be awesome too. Especially if they can succesfully uphold the whole "this is a wasteland" feel, coupled to the whole fifties atmosphere. I think the music will play a big role in that.

I can see Bethesda slapping a big fat lawsuit on the people releasing those pictures...they're usually very good at keeping the details on their big titles a secret (cfr. Oblivion), so I can't imagine them being too happy with this development.
Anyway, good for us though I guess. I'm digging the character creation screen style. *afraid to click more due to spoilerism*
