Which brings me to my next point - as this is Liberty City again, will the map be the same but with updated graphics?

Personally i hope they put more effort into the main quests. I think the execution of the main quests have been a bit bland overall, they need more "whoah" factor.

I would assume the map will be bigger coz its meant to 1. be the biggest GTA yet and 2. based more on New York

yea, I hope they don't reuse the map. The first island was fun bu the second and especially 3rd islands were just insanely complicated.
Some more mission variety would be nice.

hah. It doesn't have to be square, but can it please at least go primarily in a single direction? None of this weaving around crap. Europe's horrible about that, at least a big chunk of it is.
Amsterdam's radial spoke thing is kinda cool though.

Until you have to drive around in it. I'd like to see you do that. The layout is quite logical, but most of it is rather narrow.

If they did a multiplayer free-roaming mode, ala crackdown, burnout, test drive etc. It would be cool to set up a jump so that your mate could be flying a plane and you crash in to the plane with a car. Or a golf cart. Whatever.

Think they'll do a better port this time? I found San Andreas unbearably Playstationish at times. If it weren't such a great game I would have never bothered finishing it.

I thought SA was the worst one. It instantly felt like a cheap nock off. The smooth(for the day) controls were long gone, the environment looked like shit and the heavy black-gang culture made me a sad panda.
GTA IV is really good, though I've yet to finish it. The city is awesome. Infact, graphically (given its size) the only problem I have is the odd fuzz around the shadows. The cars a bit awkward to handle until you get a feel for it though.
I keep dying on this one mission the police don't suck quite as much this time, and they can actually give a fairly decent chase.

Even though i'm not a fan by any means, I do believe the Xbox 360 went some way to bridge the gap between PC and consoles. Sure, it doesn't usually have the depth of PC games but it's technology and 'feel' is a lot more pc-minded than the PS3. Now that games aren't developed first and foremost for the PS anymore, I think we see more intuitive interfaces for ports. I hope.

The gap is getting smaller and smaller anyway really.
I mean, the biggest games come out on both anyway, CoD4, Half Life etc - and since I prefer a decent control pad to a mouse and keyboard it works for me. MMO's are slowly on their way in, though admitedly they'll be mostly shooters and japmmo's (like phantasy star online, which is awesome but shush) but it's just another step across that metaphorical bridge.
Ultimately PC Games will still be superior in anything with a point and click interface, that being said command and conquer works really well on 360.
I think it's a bit off stage to judge a GTA game based on any kind of depth - as that's not what it's about, which in part is why I hated SA. All this eating and working out crap wasn't needed. I mean, the original GTA is still one of the most memorable games I ever played. As is populous. But I expect one to have a certain amount of depth and not the other, if you get what I'm saying?
