ugh they just get worse and worse. I said to Mole last night, as a general rule I'm against pirating games; at worst I may try a pirate copy to see if I wanna buy it or not (though I haven't done that in years) but EA sure deserve it with their "churn out expansion/yearly update" games

Will Wright should go join Peter Molyneux, imagine if those two got together on a game...

there's a demo of the creature creator for Spore out. Looks like it's got phone home secur-ROM crap in it. Some posts on the subject.

It's also a limited version. You can pay $10 for the full version which, amazingly, also has crapware embedded in it. I think I may grab a cleaned copy off of p2p.

So, yea, looks like I'm not buying any more EA products ever again.

lol yeah sod that.

We're charging £4.99 for the creature creator at work apparently (whenever it comes in) but you do at least get that discounted off the price of the game if you bring the receipt in. As if they did that though, AND put the crappy protection in... didn't they release the Sims 2 creator free? *shrugs* Not like you're gonna gain anything out of it ffs.

to dredge up an old post, though the extremely annoying facets of the Mass Effect DRM were removed, it's still causing issues. You're only allowed 3 licenses, and reinstalling Windows, changing out some hardware (no clue WHAT hardware) or even creating new Windows users may chew up your licenses. Some people are pissed.

This really grinds my gears…As reported here in the past, Mass Effect for PC contains a new type of SecuROM which will be present in all future EA/Maxis games.

What does it do? Not only does it install itself to your computer without a word of notification as well as disable your firewall, dvd drives and cd/dvd burning software. It limits you to installing your game on your PC up to 3 times.

It disables my cd burning software? To hell with EA. If I want to burn videos I filmed onto a DVD I damn well have that freakin' write.

Does all this still stand? I still haven't brought Mass Effect, and if this is the case they can get the fuck. Only allowed 3 installs?! Your having a laugh people, you spend like £35 on a game, you expect better.

/me says nothing for lack of reasons to be mad for.

I'm going to visit a friend who's got mass effect tomorrow. See if this game is all it's cracked up to be. ;)

Ignore the side quests, atleast on the first run through.
