I think the PS3 controller design is great for those of you who are gay enough to spend money on it. The appropriately shape penis handle will not only caress your gay hands but you can shove the ends in your ass because Sony has screwed you out of hard earned computer upgrade money.

pfft xbox original good, xbox sController shit. ps2 are crap too, i could never get used to them. then again i've always been a PC person... well ok with my Spectrum and Amiga i always used a joystick but thats pretty easy to design. Gimme a keyboard anyday.
and omg TES IV... *drools* which reminds me, there are bastards at E3 playing black and white 2... however their pictures are on the bnw forums and i WILL hunt them down and kill them slowly... fucking gits.

SO..... Satis and I now have an Xbox 360. Any games we should buy for it? We bought 4 so far - some Tekkin type of game, Tiger Woods Golf type thing, Some Race Car Game (I love these) and Tony Hawk game (again I enjoy this so poor Satis had to buy it).
Since the games are so expensive we would like to know it was good before buying - and while reviews are great I figure you all would be more reliable.

I'd say go for the older, cheaper ones; now its been out so long, the games drop in price *fairly* quickly.
e.g.
Perfect Dark Zero: decent shooter, good multiplayer, out since the beginning: £20 (~$40)
Ghost Recon: great shooter, only about £15 (~$30)
Gun: Western, great fun, bit short, only about £15 (~$30)
Kameo: Satis might look put off but its actually really good fun, a platformy/fighty/rpg'y kinda game, really well done £20 (~$40)

If you like tony hawk, get Skate. and you'll never need a Tony Hawk game again.
Call of Duty 4 is worth every penny if you can get over the whole 'omg fps means mouse and keyboard' syndrome that most PC gamers have.
Assasins creed is good, yet repetative.
Dead Rising
If you want to try the games, go to 'Market PLace' then games, then download the demos for free.

Some clarifications from Shiny's post.
The games we currently have are:
1. Halo 3 (came with it)
2. Mass effect (ditto)
3. Forza 2
4. Virtua Fighter something
5. Tiger Woods 08
6. Tony Hawk American Wasteland
that's it. As far as games, we're interested in split screen games. Basically the console is for us to play together. Preferably the games will allow coop play. Otherwise Shiny gets mad because I"m pwning her too much.
Right now our XBox isn't connected to the internet. I have to get my Cisco wireless router fully functional and then I need to try to upgrade my linksys router into a wireless bridge. Lack of time makes that likely to take awhile.

I liked Gears of War (played it with my brother in co-op). Think this goes perfectly with they type of game you're looking for: co-op with split screen, you can resurrect the other one when she (or he ) is down if you hurry, chainsaw guns . Downside is that it doesn't take that long to finish (play one day and you've probably finished it, i think we didn't play on hard difficulty though).
But if you find it in the bargain bin or for a reasonable price i wouldn't want to miss it.

Actually I have it for PC. I wasn't very impressed, I'm afraid. But I appreciate the recommendation.

Actually one to keep an eye out for is Sacred 2 in september. I think you'll both enjoy playing that one Co-op (2 player on one Xbox). There's a whole thread on it in here already Or check my website for links to the previews
