 SpikeTV's Video Game Awards.

Game of the Year
BioShock
Halo 3
Mass Effect
The Orange Box
Ok now, what the f... is Halo doing in that category?? I mean, come on, to even think it could compete with Bioshock or Mass Effect.
I'm a bit skeptical about Bioshock, i never finished it, i got bored halfway through. But then again i havent played Mass Effect, i have the game but no XBOX360. Well i guess i can see why Bioshock won but still i would have wanted Mass Effect to win. It will probably, when the panel of judges includes more RPG fans .

I have to say what the hell is Bioshock doing in there as well. That and Halo don't deserve to be in there, Halo is nothing revolutionary or amazing, and neither is Bioshock (the lack of multiplayer, and lets face it, the plasmids are just grenades really, but at least slightly more deserving than Halo). I haven't actually played Bioshock admittedly, just watched Mole do it, but still. And haven't played or even seen played, Mass Effect or Half Life but I'd be willing to be both of them are more 'innovative' and/or compelling than Halo or Bio.
Glad to see CoD4 beat it to best shooter. Though that always makes me wonder in awards; how can one game take the 'top prize' of being "...of the Year" if it doesn't even win its own category? That would be like a Poodle at Crufts dog show missing out on being Best of Breed, then managing to take the Crufts Champion...

Well sorry but i have to disagree with you on the CoD4 part but you can read more on that in the CoD4 topic.
Good point on the not winning in its own category. That really lit a bulb in my head.

I think Crysis should have been on there. COD4 was fun but it had some serious shortcomings. Some of the levels were pretty bad (sniper level comes to mind). Others were good. Some were dumb.
I think STALKER should have placed somewhere. That was an awesome game, especially considering its development pains.

COD4 for the win man! Screw you naysayers! lol
Anyway, Bioshock was great - but not game of the year great. Halo 3 is also great, but worse than bioshock great.
COD 4, however, rules all of you. Bitches.
Heh, but seriously, I don't think bioshock should be in that list. No way.

meh, I think Bioshock was cool in its way. It brought some new stuff to the table (plasmids and stuff) and a very cool atmosphere. Otherwise it was pretty standard fair, I'll agree.
But man, what about Crysis? Interactive freakin' vegetation! ARGH!

Well, i guess its like choosing a car of the year. You'd never see a ferrari set up in the competition, its gonna be a ford mondeo (Bioshock) or a Nissan something (COD4). Crysis is just a little outside the criterias.
