Crysis dx10 trailer

Some parts are just...wow. Photorealistic almost. And the glimpses of the "chrystallized" areas are looking amazing.

Minimum and recommended system specs revealed!
http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3163542
let's say that the minimum system specs are respectable. The recommended rig includes an 8800gts. Yeesh. But I meet it! Yay me!

Soon i have to upgrade.
I'm more interested in that other sequel, i forgot the name, with the nature stuff, fire spreading with wind and...

ahh yes, Far Cry 2 looks like it's going to be another quantum leap past Crysis. But that doesn't make Crysis bad.
yowzas...I found some screenies comparing dx9 and dx10 in Crysis. I may have to get Vista.

Seems to me that in MP games, DX9 is preferred. It is easier to spot your opponents. DX10 has too much "beaty" causing the soldiers to blend in.

The crysis demo is out. I'm downloading it now. I got it from nvidia at a very respectable speed.

I played the demo a couple times...wow. It's only the first level, but I'm REALLY gonna dig this game. It reminds me alot of the original Far Cry, but the graphics are great.
I've been playing it at 1280x1024 with all options turned up (except antialiasing) and it runs fine on my 8800gtx. That makes me happy. I'll probably crank up the resolution some to see how it runs.
The gameplay itself is great. The nano-suit is awesome and a very central part of the gameplay. I love using the cloak to sneak up on camps and skulk around in the shadows, using my handgun with a silencer to headshot people. The AI isn't bad either... at one point I killed someone in my cloaking way and then recloaked immediately but some other guys saw the kill (even thought hey didn't see me). A guy with a shotgun ran over near me and started shooting around randomly, presumably to try and flush me out.
And the physics rock. You can shoot trees in half and they collapse. Even more incredible is that a tree trunk actually exists in the world. You don't just warp through it like it's not there. So you can use trees to block the road, for instance. Leaves and stuff move around you when you walk into them and shooting at them will make them move too. Plus there're tons of animals in the water and stuff (crabs, turtles, birds) and they're all killable. Oh, and grenades are pretty satisfying when they blow up. It looks like pretty much everythind is destructible... cars (of course), trees, even buildings. I threw a grenade out the front of a building I was hiding in and when it blew up the whole front of the building collapsed.
So anyway, it looks like Crysis is gong to be a winner. If you haven't grabbed the demo yet I highly recommend you do. It's totally worth the time.

Haven't played a lot so far but i am enjoying it as well.
Don't seem to be using all feats of the suit so far though. A lot of cloaking and sneaking yes, but the high jump?? The fast run i can imagine small use for that (run away, run back), but generally i just run into soldiers when i use it
I like my handguns with laser + silencer and then cloakmode. Can you capture the boats? Haven't really tried it, blew one up so far.

Just found out that there's an editor you can play around with to place weapons, vehicles ... on the island.
Haven't seen [url=http://q-bic.intertet.org/screens/Crysis_TAC.wmv
]this[/url] baby in action yet.
Oh and also just realised that strength mode probably works best if you decide to go into melee or something. Not just for jumping high.

There're some portions of the demo where you can scale cliffs and stuff if you want to using the strength mode. You can also pick up stuff and throw it. There's a boat on the beach somewhere that you can punch into the water too.
Speed is great for moving faster... some of the open areas have nothing going on so I just stick it on. It's also great for getting the hell out of danger. I didn't see the editor, though...I gonna get ahold of that. I don't usually play demos 4+ times. I'm betting this game will totally pwn.
And yes, I've driven around with boats. Just don't go too far out toward the warships, they'll nuke you.

I've been playing the demo almost religiously. I played it on Delta difficulty (the hardest) and it's quite a bit of fun. Though obviously pretty damned hard. Taking out the speedboats is no joke.
Anyway, I found a tweak to allow you to turn on very high graphics modes under xp. The difference is pretty major. Normally it's only available under Vista, implying it's DX10, but who knows.
