Out of that list I'm looking forward to:

Spore
Jagged Alliance 3D
Dragon Age
The Witcher
Divine Divinity 2
Grey Matter
Crysis
Stalker
Far Cry 2
Bioshock
Heavy Rain (!)
C&C 3: Tiberium Wars
Alan Wake
Fallout 3 (if its actually released)
HL2 episode 2 (+ Portal)

And to a lesser extent:

Supreme Commander
Europa Universalis 3
Society
Galactic Civilizations expansion
Hellgate London
Drakensang
Not the time for dragons
Vampyre Story
Savage II
They Hunger
Assassin's Creed
Cliver Barker's Jericho
Overlord
Football Manager 2008
Sam Suede

Most remarkable thing about the list is the presence of a lot of adventure games. The genre is slowly picking up itself again, great news. :) As for my list: same old thing, eh...mix of RPG's, horror games/psychological thrillers, adventure and some classics (jagged alliance, C&C). :)

Yes and no: I've played it a lot at a friend's place. So I know the game by and large, and I know it's been getting excellent reviews.

And I love MOO-style games in general. :) So yeah, I'm definitely gonna play it somewhere in the near future. Maybe even with the expansion and everything.

hmmm...Quake Wars sounds cool. I've been half-assed watching it for awhile now. It's like Battlefield 2 meets Quake. :p Have to see what the execution is like. I never really got into Battlefield 2142 (or whatever it is).

Y'know what would be cool? Battlefield 1778 or something. A battlefield 2 game with muskets and cannons and horses and crap. :)

oh, cool. That certainly looks like a very interesting game. :) I'm sure I'll be picking it up.

Speaking of this topic...what's up with Spore?

One thing that will definitely be different about SimCity Societies is its developer. With series creator Maxis currently split between working on Spore and churning out Sims expansions, indie shop Tilted Mill Entertainment is taking over.

Will Wright's ambitious evolution/civilization/creature creation title is now being targeted for spring 2008.

You are 110% right. If i could i would bomb EA to kingdom to come. BF2142 is so broken its insane.

hehe...good point Pev. I never even played 2142 beyond the demo. Bleh. Either I'm really jaded or modern games suck for the most part. There are so few GOOD game any more.

It's both that we're jaded and that real creativity is smothered by the money and time pressure. Look at how Psychonauts took years to find a producer and only really started selling well once it appeared on STEAM (because it was badly marketed in stores).

One of the most original and creative games of the last 5-10 years, for crying out loud. One that I actually enjoyed playing without thinking "been there, done that".

Oh and the HL2 episodes can always make my day too...too bad they're so short. But the level design and the atmosphere is outstanding. Can't wait for Episode 2. And Portal!
