I can't access GS at work - tell me does it say anything about the inclusion or exclusion of the stat building?

I really hope there is no stat building.

Well as far as i read, they trimmed down on some things. For instance you wont be looking like Mike Tyson, or his big brother, by the end of the game :D

The details are still scarce and few.

I just don't think a game like GTA needs stat raising at all.

I mean, when I play GTA, I want to get out, get a gun and blow some mutha fucka's mutha fuckin' face to the mutha fuckin' moon.

I don't want to think "Wait, I better go build up my strength first!"

"I wonder if my gun skill is good enough"

or any of that crap. I want to get in my car, drive by some bitches and be happy about it.

Word!

Well, I'll see how this turns out, I just hope their pc port of this won't suck as much as the last versions.

I thought the PC ports of 3 were good, but not played vice city.

There's a few vids on the net but I see a LOT of slow down.

I was extremely annoyed by Rockstar forgetting that a computer keyboard has 104 keys on it, meaning you shouldn't have to scroll through 10 weapons to finally get the right one, but that you have NUMBER KEYS. I had that in Max Payne already! Similarly, I would like to select my menu at the burger's immediately instead of having to scroll through all of them including time-gobbling animations. Also, performance wasn't great (and please, can I save during missions? I've got a hard drive for god's sake). These seem like minor issues, but that also means they're damn easy to fix, and because of their frequent occurrence, they become very annoying.

hmm *books 29 april off* not to play, to avoid the retards ;) I hate GTA releases... *sigh* ah well, looking forward to it, should be good as long as they steer clear of San Andreas/Stories type stuff. Just wish they'd shut up about "ooh look at our awesome graphics" when tbh they're not that fantastic, and besides, its the size of the city thats meant to be impressive. It can be filled with square models for all I care, as long as theres lots of stuff to kill and explore ;)

Ah, true. I do agree with you on the first points, but the one i've quoted above I think is a positive aspect about the game. I dislike being able to save whilst in a mission in most games because it takes away the challenge. Checkpoints or Save points however, are preferred.

I'm ok with checkpoints/save points as long as they're often enough and AFTER cut scenes, not before! Gears of War had a serious problem with that.

Anyway, I liked all the pc ports of GTA titles. They had their short comings, but overall they were pretty good. GTA:SA wasn't as cool as GTA:VC though...it just felt so planned out where VC felt more organic. Might just be me though.

Sand Andreas Sucked - someone gave us 2 copies in one box as a trade in at work, so I nicked one thinking maybe I'll give it a second shot.

Yes, it still sucks. The graphics were such a downgrade, the black gang culture pisses me off, and the controls just didn't work as nicely.

I liked San Andreas. GTA3 was plain boring and that Miami Vice stuff never interested me, but I really enjoyed SA's over the top gangster nonsense. The music was a lot better too, especially on the old-school hip hop station and the house music station.

oh hell, I thought GTA3 had the best music. It wasn't all licensed popular music. I dunno, when they started licensing the music for VC and then SA it just lost some of its charm. At that point I might as well just listen to MP3s.

Anyway, I liked SA and the gangsta stuff was cool. :) It was a little slow getting started but some of the parts were pretty awesome, like the gang warfare and stuff was fun. The graphics were nothing special. In fact, I think GTA3 was the only one that really impressed me graphically.

But GTA3 had horrible map layout. On the other hand, it was possible to find insane jumps. The map layout in VC was better but there weren't any just totally awesome jumps. SA had a crappy map layout AND no insane jumps. Unless you count the jump at the top of the mountain.
