I never had any faith this game would be good to being with.

I though it'd be good about 2 years ago. A year ago I stopped really paying attention. Now I don't give a shit. If it gets released, that's great...but I'll hold off on buying it until I see some positive reviews. If it ever gets released.

I grabbed a copy rather impulsively the other day.

You definitely get the feeling it's been released too late. Some concepts are dated, but so far i'm still intrigued. I've encountered a few niggly bits, but not too major so far. I'll see how it goes.

Played it again last night until 4am. I wasn't even in a "getting-scared" kind of mood, but as soon as I entered this *certain place* boy did that change fast. I fully shit myself twice! Twice goddammit! and I loved it!

The best weapon I can find at the moment is the:
[spoiler]ak74[/spoiler]. I also carry an:
[spoiler]MP5[/spoiler] and:
[spoiler].45 pistol[/spoiler] cos I often run out of ammo. I've recently figured out the inventory system too, including how much weight you can carry and how it effects your running stamina.

Regarding loot in general:
[spoiler]Looting isn't easy or profitable at all so far.
There's not much cash in the stuff you sell, its too annoying to run all the way back to that fat trader guy, and there's not much to buy yet either.....yet.[/spoiler]

I bought this game a week or so ago. I only play it when I'm not totally snared by Vanguard, which isn't often, but it's very nice. HARD! The graphics are decent...in some ways they're awesome, like underground and stuff (there's a party in some sewers). Otherwise they're ok. Stuff is always happening outside your immediate area, so you'll here gunshots in the distance. I've run into situations where I saw three stalkers in a running gunfights with a bunch of wild dogs. Dog corpses everywhere. I heard it coming for a long time before it came to me. The good thing : it's not scripted. It just happened.

Lost of that, which is definetely a plus. BTW, did I mention it's hard? I want a freakin' sniper rifle. That would make my life SO much easier. Oh, and looting for cash seems pointless...just loot better weapons (a rare occurence) and loot enough ammo to keep yourself fully stocked. I've ended up with 1000 rounds of ammo before and no ability to carry anything more. Now I typically run around with two machine guns and a pistol.

Anyway, it's a cool game. And I totally crapped myself when I was in those sewers.

Nice game, im playing on stalker difficulty, the second one and damn i hate getting faceshots from shotguns. Currently i have a [spoiler]m4 look a like weapon with a scope. Its a fairly decent rifle, lower rate of fire though than the AK74/2[/spoiler]

Hehe, sewers was cool, especially when you hear that angry growl and something is about to hit you HARD

Anyway as for looting, i only loot medkits, bandages, artifacts and ammo, i also have a low stock of food.

I think im nearing the end of the game here. I got now 2 [spoiler]sniper rifles, one is the legendary dragunov, and the other is vintorez silenced sniper rifle. As for assault i use G34 or was it 37,[/spoiler] anyway the plot seems to be coming together now.

Damn i was 1hour away from the end last night duh, or very early in the morning
