hehe damn you satis. I found a nice spot for Jute though near BC; it respawns instantly. I also got a couple of lucky harvests where I got a bale + extra, mostly i get between 15 - 19 though (approx 78 reaping, I'm more a skinner atm particularly as i intend to go leatherworker for my armour).

I just defragged, ran a scandisk (no errors) and re-installed the latest Ati drivers and what do you know, Blue Screen within 5 minutes after firing up Vanguard.

Gonna flash the BIOS now, so let's pray nothing goes wrong. :P If that doesn't change anything I'm gonna reset the case fan to 'high'. Probably also gonna re-apply the thermal paste...cos if this IS a heat issue, it just seems to get worse and worse. Well I'm not gonna re-apply the paste myself, i'll have it done.

you can't reapply thermal paste on your own? You nub.

just make sure you clean your cpu thoroughly and all that jazz. And do you not have the ability to monitor your cpu heat inside of windows?

Well, I'm back after two days of virtually no pc. On top of that, I got really sick and spent most of my time dying on the couch. :? I'm still not quite a 100% but give me a day or two and I'll be the old me again.

And I probably CAN re-apply the past but the problem is that, unlike your rich ass, I can't afford buying new parts in case I screw up badly. :P ;) So as long as that's the case I prefer to outsource stuff like that.

I can monitor my cpu heat in windows and I haven't done so while gaming yet, but it wouldn't make too much sense: in rest, my cpu and mobo are both at about 30° C or 80 F...very normal values. Also, the crashing seems to get worse and worse. Right now I get a blue screen (not text) within 5 to 10 minutes of gaming. Yihaw. :? Even after I set my case fan back to 'high' which is pretty much the equivalent of a plane taking off.

Anyway, for weirder stuff check the technical forum. Ran into something outright bizarre.

back on topic.....

I found my way to riches, I think. Bags. I sell bags on the exchange broker.

I began by sticking 2 bags on the broker at 3s each. One sold before I'd made it out of the city, so I put 2 more on and went to bed (also at 3s).

The next morning I woke up and they'd all sold. That evening (yesterday) I made 8 more bags... I put 6 on the vendor at 4s each. I went to check out the horses and 3 of the 6 sold. I put the other two on the vendor at 4s each and went to bed.

This morning, all of them had sold. So I'll be making more bags today/tonight and putting them on the vendor at 5s each. Last night I broke my first gold thanks to this... now I'm at 1.2 gold. I may have to just buckle down and mass-produce bags for awhile to make my mad cash.

Heh, you capitalist whore. Good luck grabbing cash! Wish I could trade you some armor for bags. :P *curses pc*

Been reading up on VG a bit, apparently all houses will be actually in the world, so not instanced. How will they do this? I mean, won't they run out of space eventually? Or are you supposed to start cities and stuff and build around a centre? Just wondering.

Also; any idea what a house costs? And what crafting class builds ships? Outfitters?

Come on ox, you saw my house in UO, you know how this works. Yes, they will run out of space, they have far less housing space than UO or Horizons it would seem (from the maps I've seen) but it would seem that they're going to be incredibly expensive; not only do you have to buy them to start with, but you also have to pay upkeep on them which won't be cheap.

Artificers make ships I think, as for houses it requires a bit of everyone (tailors for cloth items etc etc) but I guess til we find someone/know someone who has a house, its still all speculation.

Im planning to mass produce bags too; particularly if/when I can make pristine ones. Once I go leatherworker I'll be able to make saddlebags too. Should be good business I hope. Heck maybe even I'll be one of the first on Targonor to own a house ;) lol

Yesterday was fun, was grinding some mobs in the dwarven district when suddenly about 20 people had their appearance changed, you shoulda seen the chat channel lol :D.

Anyway, ships can be built by artificers who specialise in carpentry, i for instance went for mineralogy, so i can make jewelry. Soz Pevil, its gonna take some time before i can get you the dex ears and rings.

My bag market has hit a glut. :( Suddenly yesterday there were a crapload of bags up for sale. I blame supple and demand. So now I'm just gonna grind crafting again for a bit... I'm almost up to level 9. But I'm not sure if I want leatherworking or whatever the other option is. Anyone have a link that shows all the recipes?

No probs Peltz, take your time

No clue on recipes either, but I understand that Leatherworking is your medium armour + saddlebags (i'm gonna go LW) and tailor is your light armour + bags + crafting/harvesting/diplomacy clothing.

all you suckers need to come to thunderass!

Anyway...I dunno, human-crafted armor sounds mostly crap...and being a cleric I wear heavy armor, which is what blacksmiths would presumably make. :/ Meh, I'll have to think about it. I was thinking LW, but I dunno.

If they put in character transfer, it might just happen, because Tarangor is actually a North American server, atleast thats what it sais every time the server comes down for a restart.

actually, I think shiny and I both have characters on Targanor. We built secondary characters in case Thunderass goes down. I'm a level 2 elf monk, I can't recall what shiny is. But of course we don't play those chars basically at all. Why bother when I have a level 16 cleric? :P

Btw, my bags are still selling at 4s a pop. I'll keep milking the market until I just stop selling.
