Post Started a new modded game
I FINALLY got the sound and stuff problems in BG2 solved, at least under win98, so i'm up for playing again, not to mention MP-games. :D

Started new game too, installed a few mods, all weidu, so i'm sure they won't screw eachother up.

Namely:

-Ease of use, installed just about the same things we use in the MP-game, so no multiclass grandmastery, nerfed tables etc., just some basic stuff and female edwina. ;)
-Tactics: installed everything except for the "always hardest monsters when resting in dungeon". Cos it's plain unlikely that i will ALWAYS encounter those in real life, and cos it'd be apin in the ass. Other than that did it all; improved Illyich, Kurosian, random city encounters, Red Badge, improved twisted rune, Gaxx, dragons, beholders, mind flayers, mages, vampires, undead, lichs, and whatnot. That'll be fun. :)
-Valen mod: Well i was looking forward to this, but i just read on the interplay boards that she is extremely overpowered. Stuff about her draining 50(!) lvs in one turn. :/ So i think i'll pass on her. Too bad cos i was looking forward to her "running of berserk killing ppl at random" thing. :x
-Sola mod: already did this one, but gonna do it again prolly cos of the fun fights in it.
-Ascension: How can i NOT have the improved Abazigal fight in there? :D

I made a party;
-Me: Chaotic evil dwarven barbarian, surprise.
-X: A gnomish, chaotic evil fighter/illusionist mutli-class. I have great plans for this fella, i bet he'll prove a VERY good partymember. Already showed when battling improved Illyich.
-X2: Human chaotic evil anti-paladin. It's a new kit under "fighters" in the tactics mod in case you wonder. Mebbe i'll dual it to a thief or cleric or mage. (can't recall correct stats so dunno what is possible)

I just fought my way tru Jonny's dungeon doing imrpoved Illyich. Man its easy with a full party. Even Illyich himself goes down in a minute when being gangbashed. In fact the wizard slayer was the hardest of the lot. And that cleric casting unholy word on my evil bastard-party, haha!

Oh, btw, i had Imoen, Jaheira, Minsc AND Yoshimo join. Unfortunately, they all got killed in Jon's dungeon. If you needed any proof this is the real me posting you got it right there. In fact, Immy, Jah, and Minsc didn't even outlast the bottom floor. No bother cos couldn't care less for them. Was a bit disappointed atlosing Yoshimo tho, could have needed a thief. Blah.

Questions then:
1) Anyone know any more mods that are very likely to be compatble AND don't need a new game to be started to work? (after all i'm still at the very beginning of my game)
2) Any ideas as to a cool thievish element in there? Multi-class is ok, dual-ideas too.

P.S. i'm gonna have Edwin hike along when i meet him. He's just too good and funny not to have along, especially with the "Edwina" adjustment.

Lol, anyone knows vegevomite sux worse than even erh, brussels sprouts (which are quite ok IMHO tho)

Anyways, i've been going ahead with my fun/challenge game, and it's going quite smoothly i must say.
Tho i'm having a bit of a prob now. You know the Kuriosan dude, the acid kensai? Well apparently he's triggered no matter what once you got celestial fury.

My barbarian dual-wields katana's atm, so i decided to go and get celestial fury. But, the guarded compound is also improved and buffed up, so i decided to just do a test run. Surprisingly, after two tries i beat the suckers. :/ Which was a bit of a disappointment as to how difficult the other imrpoved battles actually will be. So, now me and my 3-ppl none-powergame party (no item mods or stuff) have celestial fury. BUT, that's where the acid kensai comes in. I was doing the shadow thief guild missons, and as i was walking out Rayic Gethras home after wahcking him the kurosian guy appeared and told me to hand over my precious katana, which is a no-go obviously, so we get down to business and he whoops my ass. After that i didn't try anymore (bored) but even then i KNOW it's gonna be hard.

My party is lvl 9 (me, barbarian), lvl 8/8 (fighter/illusionist) and lvl 9 anti-paladin. :/ On the other hand, seeing as to the logic of the developpers, if i can beat the guarded compound on this lvl i should be able to handle him. we'll see. :)

Other than that, cruising my way tru it. Killed some three cowled wizard groups too, hope them bastards run outta folk soon so i won't be bothered when i try to cast spells during my daily paladin and amnish legionaire slaughtering when my rep hits rock bottom.

I must say the tactics stuff makes everyhing more of a challenge tho, notwithstanding my disappointment with the guarded compound. Apart from those two timestops that mage there was a wuss. Blah, anyone remarks or suggestions, other than the "you're toast", or "kurosian is gonna screw u over badly"? Yes, i meant you by that Inqui. :P

P.S. i'll be having Edwin along shortly, after that acid kensai is dead, or has my katana, whichever works.

One dead acid kensai. :D It took me a few tries but in the end he went down rather easily. (like any solo opponent would) So now me and my 3-man lvl 9 party has his posh katana too, but i didn't equip it yet, i got dakkon zerth's blade in my off hand, and i kinda want the AC bonus from it, if not i'm only -2 and that that's a bit few imho. :? And besides, the thing looks awfully powergamer-ish. :)

Only used two spells as well, i.e. haste and stoneskin. And 12 healing potions; 7 by my f/i and 5 by my antipaladin. But DAMN does that guy have lots of prot. from magical weapons spells! :/ Not to mention stoneskins.

The basic tactic was: running! (always works!) First i made him spoil his 2 death fogs by running with my speedy barbarian, then i let him cast his prot from magical weapons over and over again whil i was running. Then cue my f/i and my antipaladin (cos i needed the f/i to haste me again) and he went after the f/i (prolly script to go after "weakest" partymember) So, we all ran back indoors Rayic Ghetras' home and he followed us. BUT, there was a round table indoors! :D My f/i just kept running and running circles around it while that ass tried to hit him, with my barbarian and antipaladin pounding the dude (to no effect the first minute or two), until eventually he stopped casting prot from magical weapons (ran out? got bored of 'em? plain stupid? dunno. I reckon the first tho, cos he had already cast some MM's, which in the previous tries was a sign he was running outta spells), and we managed to hit him. After that it was over quite fast, took some hits and dead. :D 40k XP and a powergame katana the richer.

Also took out a band of cowled wizards straight after that. I had intentionally cast a spell near the acid dude to have tem warp in, thinking they might attack the acid dude. :) To no avail tho, so i just ran off a bit and did the kensai first, as i said.

Now where's that f/i's house...any idea inqui? :)

P.S. in case anyone wonders, core rules was the setting.

From the readme.........

/------
| Kensai Ryu's Gnome Fighter/Illusionst in the Docks
\------
A gnome fighter/illusionist is looking for Valygar inside a building in
the docks and he will kill anyone in his way.

Warning: The fight can be difficult. Don't try him unless you're looking
for a rumble.

-2 AC? Pfeh. In my game, Jahiera has -15. And she's only F9/D11. :D

Lol, but Jaheira can't hit shit! :D  J/k, as i said, i think she's pretty good. How are you going along btw?

Tnx for the readme excerpt..the stupid thing is; i just left the docks district, and even quit BG2 cos i got bored. So i'll have to take him the next time i'm there. When i'm delivering that Renfeld guy to the harpers or summit. Btw, that improved Mae'var was more of a bitch than i had tought. No wonder really since no-one in my party can cast decent area-spells, they come and get you on pack there. I accidentally had sent Edwin off in the dialogue moreover, so i'm still to pick him up at the CC.

Killed another bunch of cowled wizards, hope they run out soon. Starting to get on my nerves.

Gah. Jahiera rocks. And don't you forget it.

And I've done the CC now - moving on.... somewhere - I haven't actually decided. I'm doing Mae'var at the moment.

Lol, what's it with you oceanians and vegevomite? ;) :P You're all brainwashed! ME and BJ found some very (and i mean VERY) scary things on vegevomite obession in Oceania last time! :o They use it for everything, fuel for cars, make-up, glue, etc. etc. :/

Hehe...anyways..tnx for the compliment Suga..and glad to see you got Sola! He's a great romance yeah, well, if you don't mind overly romancic stuff. (his dialogue uses quotes from wordsworth and stuff) Hehe, and everything's better than Anomen yeah. Be prepared for some very tough battles tho (one of them is the toughest i ever did, or one of the thoughest at least. It's only in Tob, so don't worry)

Inqui; AC -15 at that lvl? :/ How'd you do that? A shield prolly, full plate and what else? And is that imrpoved Mae'Var?

It goes like this:

Shield of Balduran
Plate of Balduran
Helmet of Balduran
Amulet of the Healer (FWPI)
Mithran's Cloak (SoW)
Ring of Protection +2
Girdle of Stromnos (19 str - SoW)

Total = +15 AC, and I still have a gauntlet slot available.
