On a side note, there's a trailer for Team Fortress 2 also. That's what WFA was based off of, and I wasted quite a bit of time on that.

long video about HL2, Portal and TF2

Portal is looking really interesting and fun (it'll ship with episode 2). And seems that Valve's explanation for going cartoonish with TF2 is that a MP game with 20 people is inherently funny, so they decided to just take it all the way there by giving the game this style of graphics (and gameplay).

I can't say I disagree with the fact that MP shooters with 20 ppl are always funny. But I'm not down with the style either...if the gameplay's good it might grow on me tho, who knows.

Check the Portal trailer on steam guys (and girls!). Portal-based puzzle game using the steam engine....looks real nice, and it'll be free! (when you get Episode 2 that is, which every sentient will do)

In the orginial Half life 2, how do you go forward in the jail where you have to set up turrets. That lady told me that she'd be right there but she doesnt show and all the forcefields are up and theres nowhere left to go.

sounds like you may have bugged. You basically have to defend the area. Grab the turrets, set them up, then try not to die when the baddies start charging in.

Yea it was a bug, did it again and it worked, this time i had 5 turrets set up and i didnt take even 1hp of damage , carried the other 2 from the commandroom defence earlier.

That's a tough part if you don't organize well. I ended up with my back to the wall in one of the cells with my magnum, one-shotting Combine Soldiers when they look in. and picking up nades and throwing them back out with the grav gun.

First time you play HL2 Peltz? Great fun eh? Make sure you play Episode 1 too. Can't wait for Episode 2 (shouldn't be too long anymore).

Ye well silly me, i picked up HL2 from shop for 259eek but i missed the holiday package which included ep1 for 359eek so shit shit shit. It was underneath another game. The biggest variety of games is in a shop that has these really shity shelves where picking up one game causes a chain reaction of those plastic security cases falling on the floor. I really hate when that happens.

Anyway ye it was fun i must say, xcept some places where i had to really work wonders to make them friggin barrels stay ontop eachother while trying to jump on them.

hehe, yeah, I remember the barrel jumping over the water under high voltage. Too bad about the Episode I thing, apart from being short it's better than the original in many ways. Check out my review when you're done with Hl2 (might contain spoilers ). And have fun!
