the acting was bad. the special effects were bad. The only thing that wasn't bad was the gameplay. And maybe the story. But I digress.
Kane and the composer can go have an orgy with everyone else that doesn't like EA for all I care. So long as the gameplay is, finally, worth a crap. I doubt it will be. RTS's are so cookie cutter it's disgusting. I want interesting, tactical gameplay, not contrived scenarios with no basis in reality.
Granted, the original C&C was contrived, but it was the closest anyone had ever come to a real tactical wargame. And noone's come any closer.

The Total War series is mostly real time strategy and it works. Warcraft and Starcraft were very good too. If RTS is not your thing, I doubt C&C 3 will change that.

Satis is a playahata!!
I dunno tho, I will gladly agree that C&C isn't the most hardcore RTS game around, but it has something 'extra'. Maybe it's youth sentiment. Maybe it was the music. Hard to explain...I think Arathorn feels what I'm saying.
And shucks @ Kucan probably not participating. I mean, C&C without Kane...that's just wrong. Can't blame him for hating EA tho

It works here. Nice article, with a few hints to gameplay, but I want more gameplay info.

ah, my bad... it looked like normal text in my browser.
as for C&C3...looking kinda lame imo. The thing I liked most about the first one was it was almost barely realistic...closer than anything else out there (since there was nothing else out there). This is getting all futura retardo.
Y'know what I'd love to see? A fusion of sim city and RTS. Build a city, then war across it.

Isn't that what Spore will do, kinda?
Anyway, I agree with Satis that the feel of the screens isn't much like the original C&C but I think it'll still be a blast. The story looks interesting and it's a logical evolution from the events in previous C&C games.
I'm excited, in any case. C&C is sexy!

heh i'm not too fussed with C&C, rts never hold my attention for long. Somehow I completed AoM AND its expansion... not quite sure how. Sometimes though I enjoy a game of C&C, simply because of it being
Place house
Watch villager collect wood
Go eat tea/watch all 3 LotR moves
Come back. Villager collecting last bit of wood
Villager starts to build house
Hooray! House is built
New villager spawns
whereas with C&C its just
Click Power Plant
5...4....3...
Power Plant ready
Place Power Plant.
Sometimes its cool to have the whole economy thing going on that stuff like Settlers needs, but other times its nice to quickly build up an army and smash stuff

Trailer are out, and they look pretty good. Highly polished linking scenes etc, as we're used from the C&C series
