Does anyone else watch this series?

A friend of mine said I needed to start because they are amazing and he was right. He told me to watch the first 3 episodes of the first season and If I dont like it then dont watch anymore. By the 5th episode I went the next day and bought the first season on DVD. I stayed up from 5pm till 3 am watching them. This show is so amazing. Im recommeding the same to you. Watch at least to the third episode.

Anyway, Lost sucks in my opinion. Why? Because it's basically an open ended soap.

Most open ended TV series suck, because they basically will do whatever they can with the story line, untill it dries up and becomes rubbish, at which point they will throw in a random nonsensical ending, a crap ending or both.

Then, they'll release a spin off.

The other reason lost in particular sucks, is because the entire show uses false tension.

The basically put you through the end or at least a later stage in the story, and then bring you back up to now. In other words, they don't make the story line so gripping that you have to watch, they make it so that you have to watch in order to figure out what the fuck is going on.

Also, wtf is all this about a polar bear?

Just so you know - I'm not dissing people that like the show, that is their opinion, of which they are entitled to, I just don't like it and thought that I'd voice that.

oh good god i hate this program. We sometimes leave it on by accident after watching House.. such a pile of crap. Seems its a program you either love or hate; i've noet yet met anyone who is in-between.

5 seasons of it? Oh kill me now. Then again most tv is shit anyway. It fits right in

I watched the first season and i really liked it, but it kinda moved to slow for me and i don't like waiting a week to find out almost nothing.
My brother has the DVD of the first season as well, and i might ask him to give it to me once the DVD of season 2 is out as well.

Main problem i have with the series is that i'm afraid they're dragging it too long, 5 seasons seems overkill to me. That's 5 seasons before you know what the fuck is going on over there. It's not that every episode you find out more about what's going on, you just find out more about everybody's past. This probably has to do with why they're on the island but still .. i'm not a very patient guy. If it was a daily series it would progress a bit better to my liking. But it's like reading books with me: i can't stop reading untill i'm at the end.

So i'll be watching it when the DVD's come out and have a veryveryvery long LOST-marathon.

The 5 season's have already been written. Its not like the write new stuff per week like Saturday Night Live or something.

I think the whole show is good, the story, good acting, character development, directing, flow of revelations. Man, this is the best tv series I have ever watched. Seriously, its incredible.

Its really not that slow. All the flashbacks give you more insight into why they are on the island. Plus it leaves you with just enough mystery that your left trying to figure out what the hell is going on.

No wonder is got alot of awards.

It can have all the awards that it wants for all I care, It still sucks

I didn't particularly like it when my housemates started watching it then I hated it after they got obsessed. Plus they have bad taste they like Will Young.

And i disagree, i liked it very much, i'm just not patient enough to wait a week to see the next episodes. Not even mentioning the time i don't have to watch it.

I've seen it on and off, but because I didn't see everything I quickly got lost (eh? eh? ). But it always looked very confusing and intense, so I'll give the series the benefit of the doubt so far.

What I do know is that the series has been running for a while already and there has been a lot of talk about the 'others', but that they STILL don't know who or what the fuck they are. Not over here anyway, maybe they do in the US timeline.

No, we dont. We have an idea but its all guesses. And yes, if you miss and episode or skip episodes your going to be lost as to whats going on. If you have a torrent downloader I recommend going to torrentspy.com and doing a search for "lost". Torrent download the first season and the majority of the second season. They are in HDTV commerical free.

Mm, I might do so. Tho I won't bother downloading, some friend's bound to have the series at home. In any case, if my pc exploded and I were too poor to buy another one and play games, Lost would be a series I'd watch to kill time. Now it kinda takes a backseat.

You have to download season 2. Season 2 wont be available on dvd until October.
