that looks pretty cool, for hte most part. Like Operation Flashpoint hopped up on meth.
Speaking of which, when the hell is Op Flashpoint 2 coming out? Lazy bastards.

oh, did they rename it to "Armed Assault" or something? Or is that something else. I've been looking forward to Operation Flashpoint 2 for a very long time. With my luck, they'll release while I'm full enthralled by both Oblivion and DDO...if that happens, well...too bad for OpFlash2.

Thought i'd post something more on this. A critical analysis of the new screenshots (negatives):
Tan uniform in a lush environment?
Both soldiers have exact same build.

Again, lush terrain AND desert? Is that right? Satis - help me out.

Mmm, ok.

Not bad, but isnt the guy with the PK pointing at his friend?

Very nice.

Sort those fingers out! And the clipping.

1. desert uniform with a woodland flak jacket in woodlands...yea...pretty lame. Something a bit less obvious... the desert uniform is the new pattern, but they're using M16s. M16s have been replaced now.
2. The camo on the second vehicle looks like some sort of bastardication between desert and woodland. Something else...this looks like a Vulcan mounted on an M113 chassis... I don't think we use that. I've certainly never seen one deployed. Most (all?) air defense is missile based at this point.
3. Looks like a Russian Hind.
4. Heh...yea...shooting his friend int he back with a PK. Looks like he sticking his hand through the PK barrel. And the magazing on the AK-47 is wood?
5. Yea, I like that vehicle. Looks good. BMP? I forget.
6. The clipping does suck... but the detail is great. I love the LBE and detail on the rifle.

1. M16? Arent they M4 carbines?
2. Yeah i always thought those M113 AA's looked kinda hollywood.
4. Hmm, good point on the wood magazine. Maybe its a 74 with plastic magazine. I dont ever remember seeing grenade launchers on 47's.
5. I think thats a czech manufactured armoured car. Dont know what its called.

yea, ok, the far rifle is definetely some sort of carbine. M14 maybe, I dunno. The nearer one is harder to tell.. it may be a modded M16 (with rail mounts and a 203) or something else.

hmmm...looks good....and at the same time, pretty rough. Some of the video sequences showed crappy textures (especially some of the soldiers), crappy animation (did you see the guy whose rifle just magically appeared?) and some obvious glitchiness (grass blinking on and off).
But, that's ok, because that's all alpha/beta behaviour which should hopefully disappear by release date. And overall it looks quite a bit like a majorly graphically improved version of flashpoint.

Yeah but im not too bothered because OFP was a bit ugly when it came down to animation yet the gameplay was so good it didnt bother me.

true....but I still hope for a pretty polished product. They certainly appear to have fixed some stuff, like flight. You can actually see decent distances now...flying before was freakin' horrible. Anyway, once again, if all they did was upgrade the graphics engine and leave everything else roughly the same, i'll be happy.
