btw, I finally got my necro to dragon's lair. Jesus christ that was annoying. I must've done the mirror battle 50 times. In the end, I set my blood skills to 0 and equipped a crapload of health-sacrificing skills. My mirror just fanatically used them all until it died.

LMAO. That's awesome. I noticed something strange about my mirror's use of skill, but never knew it'd get that crazy. Heh. Did I mention I beat it in my first try -ever? :P ;)

Thanks for the potential shield/sword assistance in any case, and thanks for the tip too Pev. Will remember that.

Btw Satis, I already did the Dragon's lair on Sunday with a few henchies (easy), then did another run with Pev to get some elite skills. So I'm already at Droknar's. No matter, I'll do it again next weekend if you want. No one's left behind, hehe. :)

Also tried my hand at the mission after that. Pev told me you weren't supposed to beat the Mursaat in that level yet, but me and the henchies kicked their ass. I can see how they're supposed to be out of reach though, they almost fry me from 520 to 100 hp in the first 2 seconds of the fight. But then I get some healing and whoop their ran-out-of-magic-spells asses. :) *strokes plate mail* Gotta love it.

mirrors are ridiculously retarded. Wanna know how I beat mine?

Ranger/Mesmer
Skills: Healing Spring, Troll Unguent, Distracting Shot

For those who don't know.
Healing Spring = heals all close allies for x seconds and for x amount every second. Powerful, but easy to interrupt (i.e. one hit and its gone)
Troll Unguent = health regen. Probably had it at around 8 regen at the time. Takes time to cast
Distracting Shot = timed properly stops them using a skill.

So, me keeps on hitting mirror with 'normal' shots. This prevents it using healing spring. If I see mirror go to cast Troll, me distracts. Mirror never distracts me in time. So, me heal, mirror no heal, me = teh winner

anyhoo, I'm up for that Satis. I'll either bring my ranger again or, if i've gotten my monk that far, I'll bring my healer.

ok, that's cool. If you want, I can bring one of my characters and help you power-level your monk. Monks (not hench) are virtually required later on... be nice to have one along for the ride. Regardless, I'm sure my necro will have problems getting through Dragon's Lair without help. She's more a support class then a killer.

btw....Ox, did you take on Glint? :P

I tried....but it didn't seem to work. :( Is it possible? If so, I'll go back and own that sorry loser excuse for a dragon. :) I figure; if I can take on his 6 manifestations easily I should be able to own his full form.

those were just his guardians.

And yes, supposedly it is possible, though I've never managed it. :)

That's one for the wishlist then. :) Pev, I'll need your ranger to interrupt his healing when I get on that.

So...since I was bored tonight, I decided to explore a bit. And that got kinda out of hand. Fought my way (with henchies) to Rankor camp, then to Deldrimor war camp, then went into sorrow's furnace.

That area is a goddamn maze though, took me ages to get through the snake pass (or something) and to Deldrimor...and when i was there I got completely lost when trying to find the entrance to Sorrow's Furnace. :( I went up North and East, cleaning up virtually the entire area...only to realize that the entrace to SF is right freaking in the middle... :?

So, laugh all you want, but I made it there, nah. =P I must say, at lvl 20 the hencihes stop sucking. They are pretty darn rocking even. Especially the ones at SF, yikes.

Did a good part of the Kilroy Stonehammer quest (lol) before the little bastard ran off and got himself killed. Sigh. Everything had been going a-ok until then, got some nice purples out of it (Satis, you need a major death magic rune?), ah well. I'll get it right some other time. :P

Conclusion: I tried to avoid doing missions so we all ave some interest in that when we play in the weekend, hehe. SF doesn't look too bad, but then again I thought that about other areas too at first. :P I'll need to take along fewer henchies if I wanna get a green item though, I guess.

Other conclusion: I own. Plate mail r0x0rs!

We'll have to go together sometime ox. I want green items! Right now, mainly monk and ranger items but eventually I'll want more ;) hehe. Still never seen one. *sigh*

My monk isn't *too* far away now Satis, she's at the Wilds mission. So got a few more white mantle ones to do, then I'm in the desert.

Hehe, cool. Reminds me, I got a very nice item for your mesmer Pev...well I think it's nice anyway. A chakram with these stats:

+11 energy (req. 7 domination magic)
+10 energy
-1 energy regeneration. ( :( )

But holy shite @ +21 max energy boost, I say.

you looted that? There's something you can buy like that in Maguuma Stade.

Anyway, I don't think the energy regen loss is worth it. Also, no thanks on the rune. I'm a snob...I have a superior already. :p

So...Ox. Or the rest of you. I'm curious if you've uncovered these areas.

In Maguuma area:
Beetletun
Maguuma Stade

In the shiverpeaks:
Ice tooth Cave

Advanced shiverpeaks:
port sledge
camp rankor (I think yes for both of you on that one)
granite citadel
marhan's grotto

Those are all optional areas with skill vendors that I wouldn't mind uncovering. I can run to some of them, but others are TOUGH.

I have, from the top of my head:

Ice Tooth Cave
Beetletun
Camp Rankor

That's it :P And sure, a run might be cool...on the other hand, I could probably do it myself if I find a map online somewhere. COuld spare you some time. :)

EDIT: don't know where I got it, tbh. Either got it as a quest reward or looted it, definitely didn't buy it.

I never buy items. Half the time you already have something better when you reach the merchant.

I have no clue which of those places I have. Either way I'll be happy to come along and kick some ass with my chars.

cool. Well, I fought my way up to Camp Rankor and Deldrimor War Camp (SF). Then I fought my way to granite citadel, which I've never been to before. :P

Copperhammer mines is another one I forgot. And Fisherman's Haven. That last one is just north of Sanctum Cay (the last mission before the desert). Some good skills there.

Anyway, I should be ready to whoop some ass this weekend, since I have my good armor and some great skills now. Bone fiends pwn you.

I'll go the granite citadel tomorrow, methinks. It sounds like a really cool place. Granite and citadel = dwarves! What's not to like?

Took this screen from the outsides of Sorrow's Furnace. It's awesome.

Btw guys: all this bone and wood and cloth I find...wtf is it need for? I only used some tanned hides for my previous gladiator armor, but that's it. Is it for other classes? I can imagine necro using bone as a base material.

Also: is it me, or do I get better salvages with a superior salvage kit? I bought one for a change, and ever since I've been getting rare materials from salvaged armors every so often. Steel ingots (as opposed to iron ones) and leather squares and stuff like that. Is it the area I'm in with posher armor drops, or is the kit? Just wondering.

Lol, yeah ox, it's for other classes. And me an pev told you way back when you started, using an expert salvage kit allows you to get rare matierials and a better chance at getting a rune/upgrade from an item.
