Hehehe @ UO Pev...and sure Satis, we'll get that group rolling something and start the owning. With a new, more tankable secondary profession for my warrior. (earth ele is a big candidate)

yea, earth ele is cool...lots of spells to increase your armor, or cause enemies to miss or whatever. Monk is good too, since you can put mending on yourself, or cure your own conditions. With ranger you could get another running ability, but that's not really necessary. Necro works too...just put that spell that gives you life regen at their expense.

Hehe, I'll take a long and hard look at the other classes' skills and decide what's best...but I still have some way to go before I get there of course.

Anyway, progress....I've been finishing some quests here and there, cleaning up some stuff even in Ascalon. Got me good XP, and now i'm lvl 19.5. :) With 27 or something skillpoints.

Satis, you were right about the jungle though: it's HORRIBLE. Well, the scenery is amazing, most creatures are ok (jungle trolls are teh suck), but those !èé§è&"! spiders!! Argh! Pinning, poisoning, and then they appear out of nowhere too. Horrible. :P But even with them I managed to do all the quests, so meh. I have two quests in Lion's Arch (I think) that I styill have to do but one of them is crazy (4000xp :o ) and the other prolly just boring. Grinding for 5 times some kind of item for nothing but 500 xp, yay.

Anyhoo, my major question here: where the heck am I supposed to be going?! I cleaned up virtually all of my quests as I said, and did every mission on my map! I have no clue at all what to do now...Rurik might have been a loser, he was very clear in his orders ('take my ppl through the pass', 'protect me or i'll die and screw up your mission', etc.).

I ventured South a bit from the Henge of Dentavi thing and came across a dude standing next to what looks like an inland river port, but he didn't have an 'action'. So...any clues guys? And girls.

well, nevermind...I found it. :P I had to indulge in deep dialogue with the dude, before I got the option. I'm not used to that.

Now I'm in riverside something...tried the mission, got to the scepter but then got owned when trying to flee with it. Ah well, i'm sure I'll be able to do it henchmen-wise, if not i'll have you dudes help me!

no worries. Something to remember...the creatures go after whoever is holding the sceptre (or any other quest implement). So always drop it before aggroing something, unless you want everything to come straight after you.

I can help Saturday again. It was fun last time, and at the rate we're going, we might be able to get you ascended. Hopefully my necro too. :)

Heh, you're on. I'm at the last mission before the desert now, so I should be good to go. Neat trick about the scepter/quest item....that's useful being a tank and all. But since I don't have a total nuker (well, lvl 15 mage henchman  ) I also am the damage dealer so I can't always equip it. Ah well.

But dudes....I'm so goddamn frustrated right now. I played through the Sanctum's Cay mission twice now without any real probs, except for the very last part where the dude summons a boat and you need to get one. The horrible thing is that my party got owned TWICE at the exact moment the boat was ready...like, just when I got the "return to outpost" notice the boat appears and the dude yells "quick, get on!" to my corpse. Bah!

Stupid fucking henchmen....god, I hate it when the healer decides to res someone else instead of me (lvl 19 tanker/hitter), or just to not res me at all in the middle of a tough battle. Stupid AI bastards. Sorry, had to get that out of my system. :P

For the record: it was me, healer, mage, tank, fighter and mesmer henchmen. Everything was easy until that last part. On the bright side, I'm less than 1000xp away from hitting lvl 20. :)

W00t...lvl 20. Also finished the crappy mission with a -surprise- good team of people. I guess the odds of finding good companions increase slightly in the hi-lvl areas...less total n44bs. But I'm sure that's just an idea. :D

Anyhoo, arrived in the desert...I can't go back to the mainland now right, or can i? Just cos I might wanna buy some skills I couldn't get through quests...i don't like buying skills cos it's a waste of money if there's a quest for them. I have like 29 skill points. Time to spend some, I say. :)

I think you can get back, but if not, you might have to wait a while. Ultimatley, you can travel back to anywhere.

Once you ascend, and get to the same place as my main char, lemme know, and I'll join you with my ranger.

I have no idea where I am, but I know it's some kinda prison thing... on a volcano like island.

Desert tests = hard with pratts.

New armour... you could. If you dont need to, then wait til you reach Droknars Forge (after ascending). Its the best armour in the game (same stuff, different design is available in Fissure of Woe but don't worry about that til ya rich ;))

Mole, we're in Abaddons Mouth.

You can use the map to warp anywhere you've already been. Just hit M.

Anyway...the desert tests are easy if you have a decent group. My necro is stuck there, so that'd be nice to do this weekend. Nobody wants to team with a necro, the tards.

And..err...the desert is nowhere near Abaddon's mouth. Several missions further after ascension before you even get to the fire areas. :p

We're getting there :P just a little while more, hehe.

Btw guys, (Pev and Mole already know this but meh) I got myself full plate armor just now. :) Cost me way too much money, hehe. But I got it, and now I look a whole lot buffer than before. I'll miss those gladiator energy bonuses though. :( But tank I am and tank I will be.

Still doubting about the runes though...between buying runes of major absorption or sticking with one of minor absorption. Oh, and I'm gonna start looking out for swords and shields. For defence reasons...I'm good for the moment with my hammer, but when it gets REALLY tough I need to get all the defence I can.

just in case you dont know:

press I to bring up your inventory. There should be a button that says 'weapon sets'. Click it, and tick them all. Then you can have 4 weapon sets, one for any given situation. So you can have your hammer AND a sword and shield ;)

I can probably dig up some swords and shields and stuff if you need it.

btw, I finally got my necro to dragon's lair. Jesus christ that was annoying. I must've done the mirror battle 50 times. In the end, I set my blood skills to 0 and equipped a crapload of health-sacrificing skills. My mirror just fanatically used them all until it died.

So...next weekend I want to do dragon's lair. Once we get to Droknar's, we can fight/run to Sorrow's Furnance if you want, or continue the regular game so you can get all the elites.
