look at runes of superior vigor (increases health) and runes of superior damage absorption (reduces damage taken). Getting weapons runes just basically improves those skills at the cost of 75 health.

That may sound bad, but an extra 3 point in tactics might make an uber stance last just long enough so you can chain it with another stance, making you virtually invincible. In that case, it'd be worth it.

Not that I know of any mega combos like that, just saying. I'm not one of those people that looks for the perfect combo...I just play stuff that works. Which is why I'd suck in GvG. I'm just not serious enough.

well me mole and ox are usually on any time between 7pm and 12 midnight GMT, with little breaks for food etc. Not guaranteed every night though lol. However me and Mole are free all weekend and I assume Ox is, so it's likely we'll be online at some point. Feel free to add me to friends.

Hehe. And yeah, I might sacrifice something of my HP for tactics or blood magic if that works out well. But not on weapon skill...the way I see it my job isn't to deal out uber damage.

Which classes deal most damage anyway? Elementalists I assume?

elementalists (esp fire) are great for raw, elemental damage. Mesmers do some mad damage to spell casters. Necros do some pretty mean damage too, actually. And then there's smiting monks. But I think eles are the most raw death and destruction.

i think eles are meant to deal most damage. warriors take most damage. but smiting monks seems to be the ones kicking the most ass (although after last nights update, maybe not so much anymore). rangers are trappers, mesmers are interrupters, and necros... minions and turning the tide i guess... *shrugs*

plus there're so many different ways to play the characters. With eles you can do damage (fire), do states like slow and shit (earth and water), or do mad defense (earth).

Necros can do healing and energy (blood), damage and hordes of minons (death), or screw people up with screwed up states (curses).

monks can heal (healing, duh), cast assistive spell (protection) or do damage (smiting).

rangers are, imo, mainly for states. Pin, interrupting shots, and poison. However, trapping looks cool, and spirits certainyl have their place too.

Warriors are basically just about taking the hits and sucking up the damage.

I haven't played a mesmer, so I can't really comment on that one.

Played some more today, lvl 10 now...mainly doing quests here and there for skills and such. Got a nice collection by now, but not the 1337 pwn yet. :( Some of those blood magic spells look totally sweet. The warrior ones are a little more conventional but they seem to be good in parties.

Anyhoo, vampiric touch has been seriously saving my ass lately. No wonder for a warrior on his own, I guess.

Good thing is that I know what I want...or think I do anyway. :) I don't invest anything in swords, axes, shields, death magic, curses...not gonna use any of those. It's gonna be strictly hammers (duh), blood magic (to keep me alive with all the lifestealing tricks), tactics (party/defense stuff) and strength (defenses, and stuff like sprint. Sprint totally owns!)

Give it some time and i'll turn this dude into a total tank. Or is that just my imagination? :P

lol true satis. and yes ox, you will, especially with my monk around, coz with you being the tank i'll give you plenty of enchantments to help out ;)

Mesmers rule. I took it as my secondary class with my ranger, and for a long while Conjure Phantasm was always in my skill bar. Now I go pure ranger though. So i've since made myself a primary mesmer. Ele... I find her fairly boring (though love energy storage), and my monk has that as a secondary so I think my 3rd char I'll go Necro/Warrior.

Btw seen the news for 2nd chapter guys?

New professions/areas/quests/story/items etc due first half of 2006.

*eyes blur over*

Well we did 5 hours today. lol. Did the Nolani Academy mission (including bonus) plus all the general/monk/necro/warrior quests in Yaks. So tomorrow we just gotta get to the next story bit (Borlis Pass). Man that was a long game. But huge fun! hehe.

Yeah, it was great! We totally rocked too this time. :) A good party is so freaking important in this game tho; I went outside of Yak for a short moment (to drop all my redundant starter armor) and took on a dwarf or two and nearly ended up getting killed. :o I should add that I accidentally chose the wrong skill but still. (frenzied while being clobbered by two guys = not a good idea)

The strangest thing I noticed about my char is that he's actually better at dealing out ok damage (with power attack/mighty blow) than at receiving. But I did run around in starter armor up until the end of last night, so that's probably part of the explanation. :P

Btw: endure pain & well of blood pwn j00!

P.S. Satis, where were you man? having fun irl when you could be online? That's pathetic. ;)

lol was kinda scary for me as a monk last night.

Problem is, I remember the huge difficulty ramp that there was when my ranger first got there, so I was prepared. However, I've also taken to soloing around the Northern Shiverpeaks with her (coz her fire arrows kick serious ass now against them all) so I've kinda decided they're easy... sure. Easy for a lvl 20 Ranger with lots of fire arrows and a lvl 20 pet. Not so easy for a lvl 11/12 Warrior and 2 monks. hehe.

But I discovered Divine Boon: OMG that enchantment rules.

Lol, true true.

You can throw stuff away in town if you want, too ox. Hit "i" and there's a little bin icon. Just chuck the crap in there.

lol, thanks. Will remember that. I think that, in general, I'm picking up the mechanics of the game pretty fast. Without having seen any manual and rushing through n00bland a week ago, I mean. :) Suffice to say, I like it. I have my questions about HAVING to pick a second class but meh. I lub my necro skills anyway, so I'm not complaining. Necrotic transversal is so awesome in arena fights. (insta teleport to bodies)

Anyway, thought i'd attach a pic of me lookin' good.
