I'll join you guys sometime...problem is that I have to login each time to check if someone is online, and once you login you want to play at least a decent amunt of time of course...which sucks if you have only a few hours left. Ah well

After taking care all my annual expenses next to the pc (repaying loans, subscription to gaming mag, reloading cell phone credits etc.) I have about 250€ (or 270$) left. For my entire year, unless I find a new source of income. Thankgod food and shelter (and internet!) are not really my own worries.
I do have some certificates left:
->a 10€ certificate for a media store (games, books, cd's, you name it )
->2 15€ certificats at the online game store of the abovementioned gaming mag. Got them when I subscribed, some sort of special action thing.
Anyhoo, they only just started with the store, so the selection is small. They have GW, but I mean...most of you guys already got 'tired' of that a long time ago. it's not the same, there's no first-time exploring with pals for me anymore. Just powerlevelling. Which is ok, but not if you're on a budget.
i'll jump on the next MMORPG train, methinks.

Except for the fact that they are releasing new expansion packs that are equal size to the original game, and adding in areas via the streaming.

lol quite so. give it a few months if ya gotta, but get the damned game already ox!
might not be the first time exploring, but its always fun with friends. not to mention each new character IS a first time. My Monk is way different to play from my Ranger.

yea, every character is different. The powerlevelling just helps get past the slow, boring sections. It's when you start getting all the skills that the game gets really cool. Matching up a group with complimentary skills is the best part of it. You can't do that in the beginning, since you usually barely have enough skills to even fill your toolbar, much less specialize.

hehe...yep. My monk, on the other hand, is specialized in healing, and I've got way more skills than I can fit in my bar. I have to pick and choose based on the party and what I think is necessary.
Plus having elites makes it a whole different world, since you can only have 1 elite skill equipped. I mainly prefer mark of protection, since it basically makes you invincible for 10 seconds, but other spells are pretty nice too.
And that's not even getting into being a protection monk or a smiter. I've never been a smiter, but I bet you could be pretty badass with some zealot's fire.

smiting monk = uber
Go to www.guildwarsguru.com/forums and search for monk farming videos. It's insane. If you want a farming character, make a smiter.

Quick update: played some more tonight with Pev and Mole, lvl 9 now. Just bought my first skills other than the standard ones, hehe.
Investing in stuff that keeps me alive, as I'm really going for tankage. So strength, tactics and -maybe most importantly- blood magic. All those lifestealing tricks can keep a man alive for a little while.
After watching the skill listings for a bit, it looks like the runes for weapon masteries for a warrior suck total ass. Major and minor ones have a HP penalty to them, well fuck that then. I'm looking to keep as much HP as possible.
Anyhoo, tired. I'm getting more and more tankish. The time to pwn has come. (translates as: 'I will die a lot')
