Yea well I had to call tech support for my computer the other day I hate when they treat you like your stupid the guy actually asked me if it was plugged in, I’m thinking to myself you've got to be kidding me. Then he had me hold in the power button on the front for like 5mins I was like what does this do? He said something about clearing the static out or something I’m like ok....... I don't know what that has to do with the fan not coming on but ok.

clearing the static out?
Must be one of those new-fangled static buttons. Or more likely, the guy's a moron.

Lol, the thing is, they get trained to make sure that they ask if the power is in. Sure, It sounds stupid, but http://www.rinkworks.com/stupid/ will show you why they ask.

A - 'Pantene'

I think it's a crude overgeneralization, and one bordering to racism at that. Most of the ppl left in the danger areas were from the lowest social classes (and as I understand it that's pretty darn low in the US, s no surprise they didn't run), and a majority of those are apparently black. The fact that the media focuses on that side of the problem is pretty obvious, if you ask me.
The idiot who wrote that piece is conveniently mistaking race for class. The fact that the two are closely connected in this event doesn't equal them in one way or another. How about he writes something intelligent focusing on the real issue -generational poverty, in this case among black ppl- instead of slagging off this or that. I'm sure he's doing a lot to help out victims himself.

*cough* Sheez Ox.
1. That was satire.
2. The news has been focusing on the poor black people in New Orleans.
The fact of the matter is, there are more white people at poverty level than black people.
There are plenty of white people in Louisiana and Mississippi who were affected by Katrina just as bad as these black people.
The problem is that the news is horribly biased. They're conveniently focusing all their attention on New Orleans because of the 'shock effect' of seeing a major city destroyed. Why the hell they're focusing on black people I really don't know. More equal, balanced coverage from the news would be a nice change.
It'd be like a hurricane hitting Amsterdam and all the news only shows Turks being affected.
