I think it was an attempted patent. Not sure if it was outright rejected or still under consideration. You wouldn't believe some of the crap people are patenting. Stupid patent office. Down with software patents!

lol....radio stations get paid to play albums? NO! rofl...and to think, they're supposedly paying money to the record labels for rights to play the music in the first place. In fact, internet radio broadcasters recently got fucked in that way too. How freakin' stupid.
