Help! I ate some stuff, now I'm passed out on the floor like a good old english tramp. Yup. my char is just lying there. There's no stat changes that i can see, I have health, stamina and magicka, but i'm just on the floor. I tried waiting (i'm in a town, so i can't rest) but it doesn't seem to be working. I'm gunna leave him there for a while see if he eventually gets up.

THis is what you get for eating things you found on the floor.

I fucking hate Ald-Ruhn and all the weird looking peasant towns. I own the Hlaalu stronghold now which is a short walk from Balmora. I put all my stuff there (about now 400k's worth). I havent made much progress on my pillow fort.

I think the graphics are neat.

*Casts ressurection*

Heh as usual i'm a few years behind, but i decided to play Morrowind before i start with Oblivion. So I'm running around Balmora now, doing this and that, haven't seen much of the world or joined many of the guilds, houses or religious dudes so far. Will see what i'll do with that.

I love the fact that you can wander around clueless. Will ask questions if necessary. I'm currently wearing dark brotherhood armor, no idea what these guys want from me so far, but it's the best i have atm :P

Oh the fond memories...

What kind of character are you playing?

First i had one of those premade ones (orc barbarian) untill i figured out that i had a LOT of major and minor skills that i didn't use or were blocking eachother (like different kinds of armor, weapons, .. ).

So i took a few skills i thought would be usefull and went for a warriortype, but not the tank i usually tend to play but one that uses some magic as well, running around in light armor (heavy just seems too heavy) and wielding long blades. Got speechcraft and mercantile as well, you might call it a "paladin light" character.

First question (so a new reply):

I stumbled upon an old dunmer stronghold on my way to somewhere :P
Thought it was worth investigating, there was a barbarian outside, a member of the house of Redoran.
Now i enter, get attacked, slay anything that attacks me, you know the drill. And then it turns out there are non-hostile NPC's inside (well 1 for sure, i hope i didn't attack any other by accident, i had my sword ready to chop his head of already) and on the rooftop (3 i believe).
All house of Redoran.

Now my question: i didn't screw anything up by killing the hostile ones right? Since the house of redoran seems the fighter-type of house (at least that's what the guards and the moonmoth fort guy tell me) so that would suit my character best.

So i'm still okay? Nothing screwed up in their questlines?

Your character is probably still to weak to kill anyone that important.

Yeah i love it. Great to explore everything.

Btw don't know if i'm THAT weak, at lvl 11 i can probably kill some low guy from the house that i wasn't supposed to kill. But you might have a point :P

Great to hear you started Morrowind J!! I assume you installed Morrowind + Bloodmoon+ Tribunal all at once? Well you definitely have Tribunal running, or you wouldn't run into the Dark Brotherhood. :) Tribunal is an ok expansion but not lacks room for exploration...Bloodmoon otoh is a great expansion, very atmospheric. The feeling you get from entering a warm and well-lit mead hall during a snow blizzard is ace. But I digress...

You probably didn't do anything wrong by killing those Dunmer guys...for two reasons: 1) they attacked you or no reason and 2) if you kill a character essential for the overall storyline in Morrowind you will see a message saying so. :) So no sweat.

House Redoran was my house too, so good luck with them. The Telvanni do have the coolest buildings (huge twisted trees that require levitation to get around in...superduper mages don't use ladders, fool! ) but they are somewhat hard to get around in.

Aahh, Morrowind. I sometimes just install the game to live through the opening part again. Jiub taking to you on the boat, the music, the environment sounds...good stuff. Morrowind has a very particular (and for the series special) atmosphere, outside of the traditional-ish fantasy setting which allowed the designers to get a little more creative. Daggerfall was set in Hammerfell/Skyrim where the Nords and Bretons live, and was very much 'standard' fantasy (but with a lot of variation). And Oblivion is set in the Imperial province so is uberstandard fantasy setting. That's what makes Morrowind so charming....the feeling of being away from the traditional areas under strict Imperial rule. And the whole feeling of being a stranger in a harsh land, with the xenophobic dunmer ('oulander!'), the strange fauna and flora and the ash storms. Some of the worst ash storms are so thick your sight turns blood red. :) And the story is just ace of course!

Erh...sorry for the rant. I'm an Elder Scrolls whore. :( Did you play an Elder Scrolls game before? just wondering. I just hope and pray that the next Elder Scrolls game (or Oblivion expansion) is set in another unfamiliar area, like Black Marsh (that would make me crap my pants) or even Sumurset Isle. Anyway, if you have any question, shoot. In the meantime suck up the atmosphere, have fun and read a book from time to time...some contain useful information that you don't always find in the game that easily. :)

P.S. I have a Morrowind mod made by a friend of mine that gives you a well-equipped underground lair accessible through a hatch on the Balmora town square. Nicely decorated with a bed, a few large containers, an alchemy set and a shrine. Willing to post/mail if if you want to check it out.

I just hope the next ES game will be set on an island again, and developed for PC only.

I think i played the first in the series very briefly, couldn't figure out what to do exactly and it was very dated of course. I believe i got it through home of the underdogs or any of the related sites. Could be i'm mistaken with another game though.

So just consider this my first meeting with the elder scrolls series.

And yes, got Tribunal + Bloodmoon installed.

On levitation: think i need to train that aspect a bit, bought the spell a bit earlier and turns out i have 0 chance of succesfully casting it. Great :P

Got Caius his house as temporary loothouse, but i'm going to try not to pile up too much this time (i generally do that) and should just sell more.

Just look out with some containers/floors, wouldn't be the first time something "disappeared". ;) And cool, your first real TES experience.

If you need any info on lore or background, you know where to post. :)

And levitation FTW!

Hmm how am i supposed to get all this loot out of a cave? I've been told that mark-recall and the interventions are good for that, but isn't there a more straightforward way?
Since i'd like to continue where i'm at now so i should put my mark there. So i end up in front of some temple unable to move because of all the weight. So i should drop things down and run up and down 3 times. Not to mention that the merchants might not have the money to buy my things.

Of course it adds to realism, but i just want tons of loot. I need a Nodwick, a henchman that can carry all! :)

Btw i noticed that after drinking several sujamas, maztes dunnowhat to boost my strenght so that i do can carry way way way too much the penalized stats (that drop to 0, but actually below probably) don't end up on the right number. They stay red (so below what they should be) and those potions to put this straight have cost me a lot of money in the beginning. So that doesn't work either. Or isn't ideal at least.
